we should fear those who believe that bush is a Godly man, seriously
you hear them all the time calling into cspan, and my own brother is one of these, supporters of bush who truly believe that bush was appointed by God, and that these are the prophesied end times.

we laugh at them, and ridicule them, but we should be afraid of them. they are the die hards, the ones who can justify mass murder and piracy, who can forgive any sin by a president they see as appointed by the creator of the universe, these people are scary beyond belief.

and they live right next door to you, and their kids go to the same schools that your kids go to. they work at the same places that you do and they believe in the same god you do, watch the same shows you do and they appear almost like you, but they aren't.

they are panicky, easily manipulated, paranoid, on the brink, and they have nothing to lose because they see all those who oppose them as hellbound and the end of the world is next year, so they are getting bolder by the day.

it's a cult, and a very large and powerful one, and it's the cult with the 'button' and they see it as a holy prophecy on the brink of being manifested. some cults are harmless, but some cause people to drink poison kool aid by the thousands, and some aren't happy until thousands are murdered and even tortured in the name of their cult leader/Deity.

if a seemingly normal, sane person can allow his mind to believe that the creator of all the galaxies and all the fishes in the sea and all the birds in the sky would pick one of the stupidest men to ever draw a breath to be the leader of the united states, then that person is dangerous. these are the millions of true believers who live right next door to you, awaiting whatever the cult commands.

1. I know some of them
I call it mass psychosis but cult is probably a better word for them - simply put, they support bush beyond all reason, regardless of any facts

2. We should fear all those who believe seriously in god!

4. Hey Mo, I used to think that..... read this:
http://www.samharris.org/

We live & work with all manner of nutty, dysfunctional, delusional and dangerous people. That doesn't mean we shouldn't "have a problem" with them!

12. The key there is "Freedom from religion"
That is what makes it most offensive is the need to constantly "witness" and explain to you why you are "damned". It really becomes exceedingly tiresome.

That and constantly hearing how they are discriminated against. Even here, there are numerous (and redundant) posts daily lecturing us about our alleged mistreatment of our Christian brethren.

7. The fact that grown adults subscribe to religious lunacy is extremely
frustrating to me.

My family is a good illustration of the problem. My family are democrats, but they are religious fundamentalists.

This means that even if they don't like Bush, they think he was put there by GOD.

If you complain that the elections were stolen, that's merely another piece of evidence that he was put there by GOD.

They can't wait for the end of the world, so the more Bush fucks up, the more they think it's in line with "Biblical prophecy".

They are "liberal" but they want the Ten Commandments in the Courts and prayer in the schools.

Being gay is an abomination. Because "it's in the scriptures".

Can't comment on any thing without hearing "God's in charge". Makes me sick.

10. Bush fanatacism has reached a cult status
I agree.

And people who either support him actively because of his policies (as in, the wealthy who know what he is really doing) or those who actually buy into the bullshit and believe he is a good, honest man of God should be feared.

15. "they believe in the same god you do"
Edited on Tue Nov-01-05 09:44 AM by MojoXN
Um, no, they don't. My god is color-blind, anti-killing, and knows that gay people were born that way. He wants people to turn the other cheek, help the lowest of men and women, give of themselves without self-interest, and love everyone in the world.

My God said, "The meek shall inherit the Earth", their God says, "I shall smite you because you are an evil-sinner-sodomite-abortionist-druggie-commie-Anti-American-Piece-of-shit."

I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

17. I call it what it is, not just a cult, but a
DEATH CULT!
These foam-at-the-mouthers waiting for armageddon are as deluded as the followers of Jim Jones.

Maybe we'll all get lucky and they'll move to Guyana, or South Carolina. (Sorry, South Carolina....)

20. It's true 4 of my 7 brothers have fallen into this cult. It doesn't matter
what Bush does or says because it all works into their end times fantasy. The ends very much justify the means...any means. These people believe their fantasy is coming true with this beast.

They lust for chaos and calamity because they are convinced it is bringing them to their final destiny. They will be able to 'rationalize' ANY crime this administration commits. It is the one genius stroke of Rove's to tap into this end times trip.

MoPauls right. They live right next door to you and they are completely brainwashed.
