Alito is Totally Qualified! (erp..wait where is the job description?)
Edited on Mon Oct-31-05 08:15 PM by Protagoras
I just saw the bubblehead on MSNBC say this and I think I've now seen like 5 other Babbling idiots on the tube today say this...HE'S TOTALLY QUALIFIED!

WOW...a Lifetime appointment to a position which has the FINAL SAY on almost any issue imaginable.

So I'm wondering...what are the qualifications? Since he's TOTALLY QUALIFED I guess they are reading off a list...I can't find the job description in the newspaper or online...

Must one have been a judge?
Must one have a Degree?
Must one be a Lawyer?
Must one have been licensed for 5 years?
Does one have to pass a test?

Oh wait...

How about Mental stability? Intelligence? Wisdom? INTEGRITY?

Until I see this list and know what is and isn't on it I"M NOT GOING TO ACCEPT THAT ANYONE is TOTALLY QUALIFIED!

What is it we're asking from these people who are going to be given a lifetime appointment to an almost godlike position in our psuedo-democracy?

I'm willing to describe what I want...but I damn well want them to explain what it is they are claiming...not just the RW pundits but the idiot talking heads spewing their talking points.

1. Of course, he's qualified.
He probably promised to call Dobson before every ruling.

The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services, a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office.

Edit: On the Executive Role:

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments.
