1. I don't think we have to worry

Edwards has spent wisely the whole way through, and now we're set to challenge in at least 4 states on Feb. 3.

we know the story with Dean already, but Kerry is really gaining steam, he probably has about 40 mil. Clark might have around 20 mil. Kucinich and Sharpton are on shoestring budgets.

2. What about Edwards?
Does he have enough to compete with Kerry and Dean if the reports of Dean's financial troubles are greatly exagerrated?

4. He can, he won't outspend them but he can compete
Edited on Thu Jan-29-04 12:11 AM by jenk
I would guess Edwards has about 19-25mil on hand right now. He can and will compete, that's a good total and they've been on budget for the whole campaign

remember early on how edwards was impressing everyone with his fundraising. A strong showing on Feb. 3 will have the $$$ rolling in again.

I also notice the Edwards campaign is the only one not begging for money with bats like dean. They did well in Iowa and NH without spending very much. Clark put so much into NH and only finished 700 votes ahead, look how much Dean spent in Iowa...

8. You say "on hand"
that is not accurate. He has raised 20 - 25 mil, to have that on hand - he would have had to spend nothing over the last few months.

10. I don't know
I'm posting this article and I hope Dean supporters know me well enough by now to know it's not out of meanness. ALL the campaigns are low on money, according to this article. But what it looks like Trippi did is dead wrong. I feel horrible for all of you, I've already said so. I think you guys should get together right now and get this money from Trippi before it's all gone.

"But this week, campaign fund-raisers said, the operation had only $4.5 million to $5 million on hand, about the amount it raised over the Internet since Jan. 1, and was scrambling to collect more money."
