Should our candidates appear on RW media?
This is an honest question I have been pondering.

I have my ideas on the subject and am curious to see what others think.

1. Absolutely
If they don't have the balls to take on some talking head, do you really think that they will be up to taking on the Republicans in Congress?

2. No
Democrats should not provide free content to organizations that are fundamentally against us. At most press releases should be issued, but never should talkshows be visited.

4. Edwards did very well on O'Reilly.
He came off moderate which the liberal base may not like, but he got some good comments out of O'Reilly by the end of the interview.

Must be his lawyer magic, I guess.

5. I guess it depends on which media.
I think it's all pretty right-wing.

If we're talking about Fox News, I say no way.

That is not a legitimate journalistic operation. I hope our new Democratic president bans them from the white house press corps.

They do nothing but twist and lie. I bet there's even bias in their weather forecasts!

Fox News should be fined under the obscenity provisions for every lie they utter.

6. It depends...
Does the audience really know the show is RW media and the questions/coverage will come from a biased source? Or is the show masquerading as politically neutral, objective, impartial, fair and unbiased?

9. Well they have no choice.
To appear at all on media except for maybe C-Span or NPR is to be on right leaning media.

10. NO! Unless they can get it in writing
that their mikes will not be turned off and they will have approval of the final cut.

Which, of course, is something that will never be agreed to.

Thing is, through editing they can make Jesus Christ look like a drooling idiot. If you can't TRUST, or have some kind of control, they shouldn't go near 'em.

PLUS, why feed their ratings? If all the left would simply stay off Fox, they'd be forced to just diddle with each other, which makes for less than compelling television.

CNN, you've got at least a chance, MSN, less of one. Fox - no bloody way. Stay away from Fox. Period. You cannot win against an agenda with a microphone and the power of editing. Don't even try.

than extreme RW shows.

14. of course. people are listening and will get to compare them
to Bush's ineptness. When Kerry talks intelligently without sounding like a lecturer vis a vis Gore, then he is favorable in people's minds even if they somehow pulled the lever for Bush in 2000.

Besides, there are a lot of conservative Dems who watch that stupid Faux network...so it will reach them too.

Politician say no to free publicity? BUWAHAHHAHAHHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

16. The Democrats could have killed FAUX years ago
by refusing to put electeds on any of their shows. FOX would have lost any pretense of being anything other than the GOP outlet they are.

The problem is there are too many Joe Biden and Chris Dodd types in the party who lust looooove to hear themselves talk.

And current party insiders: Has the person(s) who pushed for letting FOX hold three debates been fired yet?
