1. sorry, gotta disagree
The idea that the Republican party has an element that is not fascist, that is not on board with the neocon plan. That stopped being true long ago

2. Think of it more like an Axis of Evil.
What they could not accomplish alone, they managed to do united.

3. I think Ritter is only speaking to the neo-con fascists and not the fundy
fascists, taken together that is the repugnicant party. So I agree with both Ritter AND you! :hi:

4. A Fascist is a Fascist is a Fascist, no matter the Party affiliation.
I don't often disagree with Ritter, but there are Neo-Cons that are attached to the Democratic Party as well as the Republican Party. By and large, the RNC is the Party of the Neo-Con, so it's hard to distinguish. But, the DNC is slowly, but surely, being infiltrated, triangulated, and overrun, even as we speak. Joe Lieberman is but the tip of the iceberg. Zell Miller is the nutball fringe. But, it is the DLC who must be cut out like a cancer and sent packing.

Pro War? Pro Corporate Interests? See the poor who need governmental safety nets as a "drag" on the governement? For that matter, Pro-smaller, less responsive Government? Go to the DLC website and read. I am not just describing the Neo-Cons here, I am describing a faction within our own Party. It's frightening how similar they are.

5. And then Ritter confessed to being a Republican himself.
First time I'd heard that. The parasite analogy is a good one. Any Eisenhower-style Republican who is the least bit informed and aware can see what's happened to his/her party.

Have *we* learned anything from that? Will we let the same thing happen to our party? If the progressives do not unite behind a viable alternative to the neocons, our prospects look bleak.

6. That was amazing tv.
I have actually been trying to find a transcript of the program but apparently there are no transcripts of Book TV shows.

Does anyone know for sure?
