War porn
Is everyone aware of this phenomenon? It is truly disgusting. Apparently, it's female service members stationed in Iraq and elsewhere, taking their clothes off and posting the pictures online. That in and of itself is fairly innocuous, however the same "war porn" sites posts pictures of Iraqi's being horribly mutilated, killed, blown up and various other completely grotesque scenarios. It is the most perverse debauchery and we have the republicans to thank for it. George Bush and the republican party have turned American soldiers into complete abominations. They have turned them into monsters. Just wait til' 120,000 shell shocked veterans come back to the States and are turned out into the streets because the republicans have cut veteran's programs. It's going to be a nightmare.

2. Maybe we can hope that by then we have some
sane politicians in charge who will have restored the veteran's programs and funded the VA hospitals so all of these mental health cases will be taken care of. I'm really into hanging this whole administration and the military brass elevated in status in the Pentagon who have condoned all of this. We need them all put on trial.

I was listening to C-SPAN today of lawyer/professors dissecting the legal aspects that led to the condonement of torture in this war. The lawyers say that the decisions are not legal and many of the precedents were extracted from cases that had nothing to do with these new legal practices.

3. Indeed, the military's culture of violence is disgusting.
The republicans have stripped the military of any honor it once had.

4. There's a great article in the current Harper's (not on line)
called Valkyries of Iraq by Lawrence Weschler that describes movies thought of as anti-war films become war porn. The article goes off from the soon to be released film Jarhead that goes into some of these issues.
