Thank God For Rachel Maddow
I think she is great. And I think the way she interacts with homophobes, such as Pat Buchanan, on Tucker Carlson's show is absolutely wonderful. She treats them with warmth and respect and you can literally see the befuddlement in their eyes.

When homophobes are forced to constantly meet and interact with gays and lesbians who are normal, charming, witty and intelligent people it makes it more and more difficult for them (the homophobes) to demonize and generalize an entire population.

This is how you kill bigotry. One person at a time.

Thank you Rachel.

1. Rachel's great!
I podcast her show most days. She is a better woman than I am. I can't imagine treating those putzes with warmth and respect. She's smart, wise and must be MEDICATED! (only kidding . . !)

3. Beyond her suxuality, she is a charming, smart, endearing person ......
...... and in my opinion a rsising superstar. She's photogenic. Her on-air personnna is winning. She disagrees without being the least bit disagreeable. She's passionate and has the intelligence and facts to back up what she says.

The fact that she's a lesbian is entirely secondary. She just one hell of a great young, progessive, spokesperson.

I know she's gay. I know I'm married and old. But I also think she's hot!

5. Yes!
I agree. Rachel is a great person and I loved the show she and Lizz had and miss it. Now her show comes on way too early in the morning for me now. She's such a cool person.

9. Is she on AAR?
I lost my AAR because I was a Sirius customer. But I just bought a new car and am getting XM so I will once again have AAR. It would be great to hear Rachel Madow again.

18. Well, it varies depending on your AAR station. Mine doesn't have her.
And if you listen to AAR's online stream she's on really early in the morning, I think 5a EDT! So, I go with the mp3s. :)

19. I prefer listening in my car
At home, while I am on my computer, I watch the shows I have TIVOed.

I just bought a new car. It has an audio plug where I can plug in an mp3 or an Ipod and play it through my car stereo. Maybe I will start doing that.

21. Once you go mp3 you never go back! (Well, I didn't). I have this cheapo
player that goes with me everywhere. Whenever I want I have my Thom Hartmann and my Democracy Now and my Ring of Fire and my Laura Flanders and my cspan and my music....amazing wealth of audio compared to just a few years ago!

26. I don't know, I've had my mp3 players for years before Apple came out
with theirs.
Usually you are paying for the amount of memory they carry and battery life. If you are mostly playing in the car then get one with a car-lighter adapter so that you don't have to worry about the battery life.

Here's a link for amazon mp3 players. You can read reviews and compare prices there. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/search-handle-form/103-3464683-0351013

11. She may well be my fave AAR personality
I was really hooked on Unfiltered when it was canceled (or fell apart - or...what DID happen there?).

Then her morning show was hours before I get up (as a second-shift truck driver).

NOW, Air America Minnesota REPLAYS her 5:00 AM show at 5:00 PM!!!!

Just right for me to blast it out of the windows of my delivery truck!

It is sooooo good. Does more in 1 hour than most shows do in a week. And Laff Out Loud Funny, too.

12. me too!
I literally was in tears when they bumped Unfiltered.

Living in the southwest, she is on at something like 3 in the morn.

I was thinking, now that Franken lost his side kick, Rachel would be the perfect companion. They would compliment each other nicely. They both provide CALM factual info. Plus Rachel would make up for the lack of personality that Al has.

13. She's an amazing women. I think the R's deliberately wanted to associate
Democrats with the "gay marriage/rights" issue so they chose her for the show. What the bigots didn't bargain for was an articulate, charming, witty and intelligent person as you said.

She's really breaking down barriers and Tucker Carson is actually helping her. That's the one reason I watch his show, he allows dissent and he has people who speak well for Democrats represent us.

The same with Joe Scarryborough, he has people like Flavia Colgan and she's an amazing advocate.

14. I like Flavia too
and its very refreshing to see articulate, TELEGENIC people as advocates for our point of view (mostly on MSNBC) as opposed to the rather freakish looking strange people that FOX trots out as supposed liberals. (And I'm not meaning to be "lookist", but on television, that's 80-90% of the ballgame and Fox deliberately uses very strange looking and abrasive people to advocate the progressive point of view.)

25. Kennedy-Nixon Debate
You know people who watched the Kennedy-Nixon debate had a different opinion of the debate than the people who listened to the debate. Many people who watched the debate and saw Nixon sweaty and looking rather suspicious thought Kennedy won the debate. However, many of those who listened to the debate and did not see the appearance of either candidate thought Nixon won the debate.

20. Totally agree
I think Rachel and Carson have great chemistry. I don't have cable so don't catch the show very often, but she just blows everyone out of the water and does it so nice and neatly! I'm going to look up Flavia Colgan, not familiar with her. Another superwoman... Laura Flanders! How about some variety progressive programmers? Too many middle-aged white men!!!

Thanks to Rachel I can keep CNN, MSNBC and FOX shut off my TV. I don't watch Tucker, even though she's on it because, well, it's Tucker.

23. Great Host
I like her as a host. I think she has a great show. It is completely informative. Air America would have made a big mistake if it had not given her a new show after they cancelled Unfiltered.
