No matter who you support - we need to get the news media to
report news.

I have so had it with CNN that I am about to scream. Except for the debates, I haven't watched Fox since before the war. MSNBC, I watch Tweety and occassionally tune in to Imus.

Here's an example - CNN went to the Golden Globe awards (I imagine they bought Daryn's dress and she's been in LA a week or so), Poor Miles O'Brien is on a timer to do 60 SECONDS to report on the latest pictures and development from Mars. They'll stand at airports waiting for Michael Jackson or courthouses to watch Martha wave, but they can't do issues for politics, they read and PUSH the propoganda they get from the WH, but never ask questions, and then they have the nerve to call themselves journalists...

1. I agree, but it will be a huge struggle.
It'd be like getting a LION to not eat red meat.

I got a shortwave radio recently and just figured out how to work it last nite and was thunderstruck at all the news I was listening to about the USA. It was like, "oh my god, I'm actually hearing the news again!" It was fuel for my soul!!! I sat there and listened for hours. I heard reports on the 911 commission and what this or that Democrat was saying about the Administration. Real, honest to god news.

And they were not covering up for Bush like our right wing media does. All the cable news outlets are the same. One of 'em should at least try reporting actual news, and not infotainment.

OUR candidates in my opinion need to make this an issue. Maybe if we squawk about it enough the media folk might shift a bit being on the defensive and all. OR we start demonstrating outside their offices every day.
