Potential George W. Bush ad against John Kerry
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 07:01 PM by George_Bonanza
Inspired from "Sideshow Bob Roberts":

John Kerry protested the war in Vietnam, like a traitor. He advocated for gays in the military, making a mockery of America's proud forces. He votes lock-step with hated liberal Ted Kennedy. And in fact, John Kerry voted for George W. Bush's ill-advised IWR bill, which has resulted in thousands of deaths and chaos abroad. Can you trust a man like John Kerry? Vote George W. Bush!

My point here is that IWR is Kerry's weak point. Yet in the general election, how can Bush use it against him without demonizing himself in the process?

1. The IWR "weak point"
Bush LIED.

The lawmakers voted on the basis of that LIE.

"Well, they should have known! Harrumpf!" is not good enough as a response. Members of Congress have a duty to deal with all military and intelligence issues the Executive branch brings before them. They have a right to expect the President to tell the truth about matters they must consider even while withholding them from the public.

The same thing applies to USA-PATRIOT. Voting for either of them is insufficient evidence to pronounce their alleged cowardice or so-called fealty to Bush.

By no means is it a positive thing, but the main issue is this:

BUSH LIED.

5. George Bush Has Already Quipped The Following:
The other day Bush quipped about Kerry: I thought he gave a brilliant explanation saying he was so opposed to the War in Iraq that he voted for it.

The War in Iraq is off the table for Kerry as an issue. There are certainly others, but only the blindest followers can not see this.

6. Sorry
But I still believe they were lied to, or that they were told something we all don't know. I do not support IWR but I do support Kerry.

Besides, many people do not care about IWR (60% if you believe polls, which I tend not to)

7. Bush CANNOT use it against Kerry without screwing himself. . .
and as for Vietnam, Kerry has a fistful of medals.

What does that Texas candy-ass pussy pissant pretender have to show for his "military service"? Or lack thereof?

Kerry and his Vietnam buddies will beat the Texas Turd with the AWOL-stick

8. Bush lied to Congress
That's why Kerry has the strongest case against Bush. Kerry didn't oppose the war or Bush based on kneejerk liberalism. He chose to be strong and pragmatic. Now we find out Bush lied to him and Congress and the American people. He is the perfect person to make the case against Bush because he is the one who went on record numerous times about what needed to happen in respect to Saddam, the UN and military force.

Him and Clark. Clark also laid out a clear case of Saddam as a dangerous person and the best way to proceed. Bush didn't listen to him either.

They're the only two with the real credibility to go against Bush on the war.

9. As a side bar to your post
I think there is going to be lots of play with Kerry not voting for war in '91 and then voting for IWR in '03 . . . and questions about his knowledge of foreign affairs for not supporting the GW1 and a 'lack of integrity' for voting for IWR and now disavowing it.

This will be in contrast to Bush's 'moral clarity'.
