If nobody cares about it, will NBC decline to cover it? How many people, really, care about Natalee Holloway? But we get wall-to-wall coverage of her disappearance, which has no practical effect on my life whatsoever.

Is NBC trying to become the "caring" news network? Only if enough people "care" about a story do they see fit to give it coverage?
