5. According to Wiki -
According to Wikipedia, it's part of the A&E network of channels, who are owned by Hearst, ABC, and NBC Universal combined.

The A&E Network is a cable and satellite television network based in New York, New York, USA. The channel, which focused programming on biographies, documentaries, and drama series, and has expanded to include reality television programming, reaches more than 85 million homes in the United States. A&E is a joint venture of the Hearst Corporation 37.5%, ABC, Inc. (owned by Disney), 37.5%; and NBC Universal, 25%.

I love History as much as the next person - but I've found that PBS does *much* better documentaries then the History channel, though.

6. We get the American subtitled History Channel in Holland
And I personally find the selection of material is waaaaaaay to focussed on war... war, and more war. Then Rednecks playing with guns. Then lots of cool machines that kill people. Then how to train people to kill people. Throw in some more death and it just gets boring. I can't stand it... it's mind-blowing.

I'd rather watch gardening shows on the Beeb.

9. I have family friend who is 70 something, she says that they are totally
revising history to brainwash us youngin's who weren't around and wont pick up on the propaganda. Maybe that's why they teach history so poorly, so we won't know any better.

10. History International is better.
If you get cable, HI is much better and not "all war, all the time." I rarely watch the History Channel anymore.
