Can the democratic party agree
long enough to win an election?I think we need to project a concrete image and plan to take advantage of the chaos in the Republican party right now. We're not getting it done.Someone needs to come up with a plan. It's not getting done.Who is going to take charge?

2. I think they need to start
with a plan to ensure fair voting practices before they worry about a consistent message. We all need to raise bloody hell about it until we get results.

No matter what constitutes our message, it won't matter if our votes won't 'stick.'

3. Not as long as some of the leaders insist on being repub lites.
They had a quote on This Week from Senator Clinton quoting * on why we cannot have a deadline to exit Iraq because it will help the insurgency. She is still for this mess. I have no idea why. This invasion has put the Democrats in a position of stupidity. They have no plan on how to fix the mess, because it's unfixable with the brain power we presently have running the country.

11. And here lies the trick the repubs have pulled off. Another war that
splits the Democratic base into at least 2 groups. And because there are people being killed and egos involved, there is no way to unite because there is not way to win the mess * got us into in Iraq.

4. not without major changes
nothing will change until the need for reform is recognized ...

implicit in your question is that direct negotiations are taking place and that the parties just haven't been able to reach a consensus ... i think the problem goes beyond mere disagreement on the issues ...

i think the problem is that many Democrats, especially the online community, does not have a direct voice in the direction of the Party ... online Democrats may be exerting a huge amount of pressure on the Party elite but, absent reforms and absent a new vision to give greater voice to the grassroots, the Party will remain at an impasse ...

I am increasingly disappointed in Howard Dean ... yeah, 50 state strategy, small fundraising sources blah, blah, blah ... i agree with all of that but he hasn't publically called for the fundamental reforms that are needed ... until he does and until there's a buy-in from elected Democrats, the disunity we see today will continue ...

and it's not necessary ... and it will kill us if it is not repaired very soon ...
