I believe that the time is right for moderates and liberals to form an alliance. Right now, the right wing controls every branch of government. We are essentially living under one-party rule, which destroys checks and balances.

Centrists have expressed a desire to move the country to the middle. Right now, the country is leaning so far to the right, that strengthening the left will have the effect of bringing things to the middle. Imagine a left and right scale. Right now, the right scale has an enormous amount of weight on it, and the left scale has very little. If we wanted to make the scale even, wouldn't it make sense to add as much weight as possible to the left? The way the country is right now, there is zero possibility of it moving too far left. However, it has been to far to the right for quite some time now, and the only way I see to stop it from getting much worse is for moderates and liberals to band together!

1. I agree
I am an Independent and used to think I was a "moderate". However, given the direction of the current Republican Party, I now consider myself "a flaming LIBERAL." So be it. It better than what THEY are.
