Rep. John Conyers, patriot
Edited on Sat Oct-08-05 09:57 AM by paineinthearse
Imagine this scenario:

November, 2006: Democrats win the House & Senate.
January, 2007: 110th Congress begins its work; John Conyers elected Speaker.
February-April, 2007: House Judiciary Committee holds impeachment hearings against * & Cheney, votes articles of impeachment.
May, 2007: House upholds articles of impeachment, sends to Senate.
May, 2007Who: Bush and Cheney on trial by Senate, convicted of high crimes and misdemeanors. JOHN CONYERS BECOMES PRESIDENT OF THE US.

Who else has been at the fore for every critical issue? What better person to heal and lead our nation than Conyers, who has consistently shown leadership, integrity and courage on all the important issues:

Guckertgate
Coingate
WMD
The invasion of Iraq
Plame/Rovegate
Department of Peace
Floodgate
Election fraud
Media manipulation
Downing Street Minutes
DSM2
Executive branch abuse of power

5. They are imploding but not fast enough
for my taste.

Notice that their troubles are not in the press as of late? What's happening there?

15. I wouldn't call an 8 year wait "instant" ...
and I don't remember how long we have had to tolerate having Denny Hastert as our rep here in Illinois...at least a decade. I consider myself rather patient - not to mention overtly optimistic in thinking any of this will, eventually, be history and our congressional representatives will be intelligent people of integrity.

16. Eight years? So then you've had at least four opportunities to...
...door-knock and phone bank for Denny's opponent. I trust you've taken advantage of those opportunities?

2. President Conyers, though?
I like John Conyers. He's been a soldier in the trenches a long, long time. But not for president.

I love the guy with all my heart. He gave us hope, by speaking the truth and not backing down, in the darkest days after last November.
