Ask Repubs to explain what "Victory over terrorism" means.
Bush said "we" will not stop until "we" achieve total victory. Is this just making Iraq a happy little Democratic country?

Let's get one thing straight. There are terrorists all over the world. There are terrorists in Europe. There are terrorists right here in the good old US of A.

Ask them what victory over terrorism is going to look like.

3. We will know we are done
when there is not one more Muslim left in the world.

I've read them say that.

7. They have actually SAID THAT?
What about the Muslims in the US? Are there any Muslims in an official office yet?

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the US.

http://www.cnn.com/WORLD/9704/14/egypt.islam/

Fastest-growing religion

The second-largest religion in the world after Christianity, Islam is also the fastest-growing religion. In the United States, for example, nearly 80 percent of the more than 1,200 mosques have been built in the past 12 years.

Some scholars see an emerging Muslim renaissance as Islam takes root in many traditionally Christian communities.

Islam has drawn converts from all walks of life, most notably African-Americans. Former NAACP President Benjamin Chavis, who joined the Nation of Islam recently, personifies the trend.

"In societies where you have minorities that are discriminated against, I think they may find an appeal in Islam," said Waleed Kazziha of American University in Cairo.

10. Well, I can't provide you a link
and when I read that the person got flamed, but there are those who see all this as a religious war that won't end until the Muslims are shown the error of their ways. Permanently.

2. Good Question
I keep wondering how we know we "won" the war in Iraq? Does Bush just say, "we won" and take his toys home.

4. Hey vote this up OK? I'd really like Freepers to ask themselves
this question. Maybe one will dare give an answer. Maybe some will realize there is none.

5. Look, Poppy! I big!!
They can't even figure out what to do with thousands of pounds of ice FEMA bought for Katrina and rerouted to Maine.

But he's gonna fix the worldwide terror problem.

He's clueless, literally a wind up doll they use to speechify.

Oh my God, every time I see him speak I want to rent my clothes, Old (Testament) School fashion.

8. Victory is not in the planning
Because that would mean peace - and for peace to break out would be economically damaging to Bush's base. That is why he has never planned for victory. He never planned for the occupation.........

Come on people - Cheney said to be ready for a decades old war.....20-30-40 years. They want it to NEVER END.

9. There's NO SUCH THING as victory over terrorism.
Terrorism (the use of agression against non-military persons) is an ages-old tactic. The Greeks leaving the horse at Troy was terrorism, the Israelites' revolt against Roman rule was terrorism, and in all times and places where a disaffected group does not have military nor political recourse terrorism becomes the most viable tactic.
Since there's no such thing as a war against a tactic (terrorism); what needs to be done is to develop viable political alternatives for resolution of the issues which are the grievances. Where terrorism is met with brute force, especially against civilian populations, or serves to decrease political autonomy (as our policies in Iraq), the grievances, and hence the terrorism multiply.

11. ...but stand back because their heads will soon explode.
BushCo has no intention of achieving "victory" over "terrorism" - whatever that means. It's a perpetual war not against external threats but against those they disagree with right here at home. Remember as Irving Kristol said - the real enemy of the Cold War was not Commies abroad, but liberals at home.

12. OK Don't vote it up - we all know they most don't read long links or
articles. Only we do that. They read short blurbs and I think this is one they should read - but what the Hell do I know?

13. That is the beautiful thing...
about making statements like that. You can't win a war over an idea. It allows you to have a continuous war against a phantom enemy whom everyone fears. Victory in that sense....is impossible unless you kill everyo.......wait a minute?!?
