I like the Miers nomination....
Remember, whatever the Chimp touches turns to shit. Mieres is anothere example. Everyone knows she's no qualified for the job. Ok. all Dem senators need to do is vote no. Petiod. Base it on croyism, inexperience, incredibly bad presidential judgment requiring senate intervention, whatever. Just pressure your senators to vote no. Now....is she get in she, she is a much better option for us than one of the really evil intelligent witches that Bush could have appointed. That's why all these conservative intellectuals are livid. They wanted someone with bona fode, conservative intellectual credentials to validate whatever mental gymnastics/tortured legal reasoning is necessary to appropriately return the country to the 19th century. Miers is not equipped for such a task. Even if Roe gets overturned, the GOP dies with it. Whatever else she writes will be shit, and exposed as such eventually. (In any event, I doubt Roes is in danger. One of the justices is gong to come to his or here senses and realizes that the death of Roe is the death of the GOP.) In soccer, sometimes the ball has to go backwards a little bit before it can be launched forward. I'd rather be facing a journeyman opponent rather tha an all-star.

4. don't you think she will owe the Chimp some serious payback?
Edited on Fri Oct-07-05 11:27 AM by npincus
Won't she be a reflexive nod on everything Scalia-Thomas support? After all, Chimp is "the most briliant man" she's ever met, and she'll owe him big-time if she does make it to the Court. Won't she feel obligated to repay him by butressing the flagging support of his base? Chimpy is absolutely sold on her "loyalty".

i get what you're saying. I just don't know if having a Evangelical Chimp-groupie is really a such a great option either.

7. There is no good option
Just working with the cards we're dealt. My point is that this is THE test for our Senators. Any Dem that votes yes is a traitor. They need to know loud and clear and be reminded over and over of the consequences.
