Is There Any Graphing Of GWB Poll Numbers & Terra Lerts?
I would BET that the number/news coverage of Terra Lerts picks up every time *s numbers are in the toilet. It sure seems that way. I wonder if anybody keeps track of such things!

5. Olberman mentioned it last night.......
and I applaud him for having the journalistic cajones just to mention it, you'd think the rest of the MSM would pick up a pattern here (especially Blitzer, that poor fuck almost crapped his pants yesterday) but maybe they ARE the pattern. If they're complicit with the bush White House in pushing these fake "terra' alerts" every time el chimpo gets in hot water then we'll never see them "get it" and it will continue ad nauseum.

8. Remember how the Republicans alway ACCUSED Clinton of "Wag the Dog?"
We later found out he was fighting terrorism.

Seems like the Republicans are REALLY using the "Wag the Dog" technique.

11. someone should run the regression. Anyone?
Yeah, I'm a sociologist, but totally not the numbers kind. But if I had the raw numbers, maybe I could get a friend to do it...

10. Lets not forget Tom Ridge admitted the administration did this stuff!
The Bush administration periodically put the USA on high alert for terrorist attacks even though then-Homeland Security chief Tom Ridge argued there was only flimsy evidence to justify raising the threat level, Ridge now says.

Ridge, who resigned Feb. 1, said Tuesday that he often disagreed with administration officials who wanted to elevate the threat level to orange, or "high" risk of terrorist attack, but was overruled.

...

Ridge said he wanted to "debunk the myth" that his agency was responsible for repeatedly raising the alert under a color-coded system he unveiled in 2002.

"More often than not we were the least inclined to raise it," Ridge told reporters. "Sometimes we disagreed with the intelligence assessment. Sometimes we thought even if the intelligence was good, you don't necessarily put the country on (alert). ... There were times when some people were really aggressive about raising it, and we said, 'For that?' "
