2. I'd put Brownback under Disappointing and I'd move him to Solid if..
it comes out that Miers is for-certain anti-abortion.

3. Nice graphic! But shouldn't more of our people be in the
lower left-hand corner? I know that's where I belong. It's just a little odd to see so much red there. I can't even rejoice too much for wondering WTF they are really up to.

The placement of people is completely arbitrary, other than the corners are identified. But there is no dimension where the shading between Disappointing to Bad Choice has any correlation to the shading between Solid for Miers to Verify then Trust.

If you are going to make a map, it needs dimensions. For example, the political compass map has something like one dimension for social issues from liberal to conservative and another for fiscal issues from liberal to conservative. So Bush is easily located as Authoritarian (overtly fiscal conservative, social conservative), as is anyone else by the dimensions.
