We were impressed. The link should be up at the Comedy Central later. He did a great job.

5. He's very good at bringing information to people.
Especially like it when he moves the tired old "rich get richer" rant to an actual explanation of how, in this economy, the tax structure favors capital as opposed to labor.

So many people are clueless today about how things work and what's really going on.

Kudos to him for trying to inform, not just campaign!

He was really very impressive... usually the daily show interviews are the worst part of the program. However, this interview was very well worth the time! I like how he actually thoughtfully answers the questions rather than just throwing out stuff.

7. Thanks, it was great. My American Dream...
...Gore for President, Edwards for VP. After all, they both already won once.

13. Just watched the 2 PM version - Great!
It is obvious that Stewart likes him when you see them interact. And Edwards doesn't take the bait on the silly questions where politicians in particular think they have to be as funny in response. Edwards just says, "How am I gonna answer that?" or "Did you make that up?" and then he gets back to the meaty stuff, using his easy to understand way of talking about things.

15. Edwards is Very Impressive on This Issue, and the Country Needs It
Edwards was really great despite the asshole who hosts the show, who cannot interview, and who proves my motto yet again: When you aren't funny, scream and yell and wave your arms around. There were some offensive attempts at humor from the rich "comic," who made "jokes" that the Poverty Center should be for rich people--some stupid shit--but Edwards stayed on the point, indicating real concern, and not just a mindless yuck-it-up, like the host. I wish Edwards would go on the Al Franken Show, and I really wish Phil Donahue were still around--please come back, Donahue, with a syndicated series again, not on a network.

Anyway--little sidetracked there--Edwards was able to explain a lot about the nature of modern poverty with only a short time, about the disabled as opposed to the working poor, who are underpaid and nothing else. There was a great comment about how, for them, this would not be charity, but justice. I think this is an extremely powerful issue for Democrats--it is our meaning and legacy--and is becoming an increasing threat for more and more groups of Americans, and with looming threats like the gas price-gouge and Winter heating bills, all for the sake of record profits for an almost completely merged oil and gas industry, this is the Great Depression of our time. Republicans themselves accomplished what all the self-absorbed "framing" types never could: they revealed that Republicans are the Party of rich bankers, and will allow you to freeze to death for their further profits.

We need people like John and Elizabeth Edwards, who understand and care about the increasing pressure that people are under out here, who live on meager amounts of money and pay increasing bills. Many of us were getting along even until just a couple of months ago, when the latest profit-making price-gouges have started to make the money not pay all the bills anymore. This is a crisis, and Edwards actually understands it, as a middle class person would. Please, let's get something other than distracting, comic treatment.
