Lots to think about: http://daoureport.salon.com/synopsis.aspx?synopsisId=8a5dbf60-4a87-4a1c-a172-5be588b01e94

"There is "Gandhi power" and there is "Tom DeLay power," there is Rosa Parks strength and there is Condi Rice strength. One derives its force from immutable principles, the other from raw politics. Martin Luther King's authority stemmed from unbending convictions and confidence in his rightness, rightness that wasn't self-righteous. Assailed from all sides for seeming meek and unsure, many Democratic leaders and strategists think the solution is a watered down version of Republican jingoism."

1. The Party of Truth vs. The Party of Power
It is possible to exert a little more power politics without losing focus on truth.

2. That's a good article
Ties in well to "Don't think of an Elephant" also.

However, until we have genuine Campaign Finance Reform, Big money is going to continue to fragment the Dems and keep them from any coherent, unified opposition to the R policies of guaranteeing the coffers of Our Corporate Masters.

3. It seems that the power of rightness is gone forever in the US.
I am ashamed to be an american.

4. The power of rightness will never end. The fact that it appears
to be suffering in the U.S. is only a temporary oscillation of the pendulum of logic. Even as the pendulum appears to be headed in the "wrong" direction, it is gathering forces for the return to "rightness".

5. I have heard this theory. I hope to God you are right.
If it does not come back soon we are in for such bad bad
karma. If we do not learn the lesson now, we will learn it later.
