My letter to my Congressman regarding the Endangered Species Act

I am SO disgusted with the guy. Gah! Somebody help me get rid of him! Can Brett Wagner do it this time? We need a miracle here.

My head is hung in shame and disgust as, once again, you have betrayed your constituents, our children, our nation, our planet and I daresay, our God.

How am I supposed to explain to my 3 year old son that his representative in the congress of the greatest nation in history cast a YES vote on House Resolution 3824? How can I explain to him your blatant disregard for the creatures who share this land with us? How can I explain to him that corporate money and wanton development are more important to you than insuring that he lives in a world of diverse wildlife?

My poor son may grow up in a world of WalMarts on every corner because of you. He may have a McDonald's in his back yard because of you. He may not have to walk more than one hundred steps to reach the nearest Chevron or Texaco because of you. He may also, because of your vote, well live in a world with no California Condors to grace the skies, no snowy plovers on the beach, no Channel Island foxes, no sea otters. Perhaps one day, you may be so successful in your crusade against God's creation, that you may once again, drive near extinction the great bald eagle. Perhaps your zeal will drive you farther.

Representative Gallegly, ever since it was my misfortune to be redistricted into your Congressional District, you have made one bad decision after another. I beg, plead and pray that you will re-evaluate your life, your political career, and take into consideration the incredible damage you have inflicted on our great state, our nation and the future we are leaving our children. It is not too late for you to repair some of the damage you have done.

1. The Conserva-Nutzie buzzwords...

...concerning the impoverishment of life that happens when a species dies off leaving holes in an ecosystem's web of life is that perhaps that species' time was over, that their destruction was a good thing, inevitable, and as long as the extinction means jobs it's a good thing.

All they are asking for is a larger and vigorous Earth Liberation Front (ELF) to become active and more sophisticated in their sabotage. I prefer the tactics of non-violent civil disobedience, but if the fascists in power make that too hard to to to get the issues involved in this tragedy to the fore, I can understand the desperation giving life to this movement.
