1. it was a close one
but the General did it.

I am just curious how do you feel about the suggestions of some Dean supporters of combining with Clark supporters to stop Kerry?

3. It *is* a close one. Only 97% reported...
And only about 500 points ahead.

But, as you said, WE GOT DELEGATES!
Delegates for Wes!

27. That's Iowa hon, this is the rest of the country
he's already off to a good start with 30 delegates. Not bad for the first election ever.

8. Did we really get delegates?
I thought someone said we have to get 15% to get any delegates...
or was that just Iowa?

31. No delegates pledged to Clark in NH--Viability rule
Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 04:03 PM by kurtyboy
For the very best explanation of the nomination process (for all parties) check out this website:

http://www.thegreenpapers.com/

Right now, Committed Delegate count stands like this:

Democrat - "Soft" Delegate Votes
Need to Nominate 2,162.0
(available) 4,255.0
Kerry, John F. 32.0
Edwards, John 18.0
Dean, Howard 17.0
Clark, Wesley K. 0.0
Kucinich, Dennis J. 0.0
Lieberman, Joe 0.0
Sharpton, Alfred C. "Al" 0.0
Uncommitted 0.0
Total 4,322.0

SuperDelegates are not included in this count because they are not actually committed--they can change their mind at any time up until the first ballot at the convention.

But don't worry, the General will certainly pick up some committed delegates in the next coupla weeks.
