NY Daily News: Bush boils at storm critics
http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/349413p-298128c.html

President Bush is privately seething over critics' accusations that he's been playing hurricane politics, and his irritation bubbled over yesterday during a visit to FEMA's emergency operations center.
After receiving briefings on Hurricane Rita, a somber Bush thanked "the folks here who are working so hard to help the folks on the ground prepare for the storm."

The President turned away from reporters and began shaking hands with Federal Emergency Management Agency staffers. But when a correspondent asked if he might be "getting in the way" by visiting a staging area in San Antonio, Tex., later in the day, Bush wheeled around, smiled and emphatically said: "One thing I won't do is get in the way.

"There will be no risk of me getting in the way, I promise you," he added. "We're going to make sure that we're not in the way of the operations."

1. Just when I thought Bush couldnt put two coherrent words together....
he had an even harder time putting two words together....( talking about the Northern Command speech) he looked tired and haggard and wiped out.
I wonder what the reading would be if he took a physical now.

2. The reporters forget to mention why they're asking this question.
Because Bush got in the way in New Orleans. A LOT.

10. My friend in Mexico called to tell me that he was watching a NYC
fireman on TV talking shit about Bush and his NOLA photo op. He also said they broadcasted the "fuck yourself mr. cheney" remark without bleeps. Ya gotta love it.

We'd all be better off if he was stacking sandbags or ladeling soup.

err... without 10,000 SS agents and cameramen "getting in the way".

8. So he left for Colorado and sat in an underground bunker.....
during the storm. Thanks, thanks for not getting in the way, george. The people appreciate it.
The little emperor is getting a little testy because people have to nerve to criticize him, huh? Gee george, it comes with the territory. You didn't complain when your poll numbers were over 80% after 9/11, you didn't call for stifled exuberance then. Why should you expect people to be silent when you've managed to squander all of that support by being the biggest idiot on the planet? It's YOUR policies people are complaining about, george. This criticism hasn't popped out of the woodwork overnight, it's been a long, slow, painful process of watching you destroy our country piece by piece.
People have always said the boy king can't handle criticism, that's why he surrounds himself with spineless sycophants. The bubble-boy's bubble has burst and now he's subject to the same scrutiny and discontent every other president in history has been subject to.
Don't expect pity from me bubble-boy, you have no one to blame for this but yourself and your Corporate Masters. Poor georgie!

9. One trip down after the storm would have looked
better. This makes him look like he cannot lead from the white house. How many other presidents had to be on site to get things done?

13. Yeah, he looks like he's hovering.........
around the disaster sites now, where as before he didn't want to be anywhere near them. Well, he STILL doesn't want to be anywhere near them, but he's trying to improve his image. That's all he really cares about, his precious image. What do they call that? All hat and no cattle? All form and no substance? I think they both mean about the same thing. He's an idiot.
