In High Praise of Women
Edited on Sat Sep-24-05 11:42 AM by Husb2Sparkly
On the Mall, right now, is a very important event. And in watching the passion of the speakers. In watching the caring and humanity of the speakers. In hearing the message and assesing the messengers.

It is as clear now as it has ever been.

Grannies singing in protest.

Women representing labor

Women marching from a ditch in rural Texas to a stage on the National Mall.

Women.

My mother, my mother-in-law, my wife, my step daughter ......

Women.

God Bless the Women.

This is your time. We have you to thank. You're leading our nation by your love and compassion and caring.

I stand in awe of you.

(edited 'Gob" to 'God')

8. I agree with you.
It has always been my contention that the mothers of this country were the primary reason the Vietnam War was brought to an end. I think this was a high point in the expression of the power of women. It became obvious when the GOP has worked so strongly to divide women just as they try to divide workers, races, and religions. They can only survive on a divided peoples. Cindy's power is truth. It seems that women in general are the peacemakers, but when they each their limit, watch out. I salute you for this recognition of women and salute them for standing up to the bully that is represented by GWB.

10. Now, if America could just find a way to allow us to actually
OWN our own reproductive systems... and the freedom of "choice". But, that's a fight for another day.

Today, we march for peace. :patriot:

Long live the strength that women have shown with grace and vigor since the stolen victory of last November and throughout our history.

Nice appreciation thread H2S.

13. 'We don't want no Bullshit Justice"
I don't know her name, but she just spoke to the crowd on the Mall. Peace and justice was her message. Without justice there can be no peace. Then she zinged the crowd with 'We don't want no Bullshit Justice".

I love that woman!
