As freepers say... **BARF ALERT** - Brazille turns stupid with Bush love/
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 09:32 PM by expatriot
I was going to offer my own comments after every sentence in parantheses but I think I can some up with one: How stupid do you have to be to be "won over" by a SPEECH that is full of nothing but platitudes and "well, DUH!" statements. It's like singing the praises of someone who just chainsawed your legs off at your knees just because he gave you some cotton candy. How stupid are people? J

I Will Rebuild With You, Mr. President

On Thursday night President Bush spoke to the nation from my city. I am not a Republican. I did not vote for George W. Bush -- in fact, I worked pretty hard against him in 2000 and 2004. But on Thursday night, after watching him speak from the heart, I could not have been prouder of the president and the plan he outlined to empower those who lost everything and to rebuild the Gulf Coast.

Bush called on every American to stand up and support the rebuilding of the region. He told us that New Orleans and the entire Gulf Coast would rise from the ruins stronger than before. He enunciated something that we all need to remember: This is America. We are not immune to tragedy here, but we are strong because of our industriousness, our ingenuity and, most important, because of our compassion for one another. We are a nation of rebuilders and a nation of givers. We do not give up in the face of tragedy, we stand up, and we reach out to help those who cannot stand up on their own.

The president called on every American to reach out to my neighbors in New Orleans and throughout the Gulf Coast. The great people of this country have already opened their hearts in the immediate aftermath of the storm, and their tremendous generosity has done more than just provide extra comfort -- it has saved lives. Now the crisis of survival is over. But the task of rebuilding remains, and the president made it clear that every single one of us has a role to play.

....

Bush talked about how we bury our family and friends. We grieve and mourn. We march to a solemn song and then we rejoice and step out and form the second line. That line is now open to every American to join us in rebuilding a great region of this country. New Orleans will rise again. My hometown is down but not out, and with the help of every American, it will be back on its feet, bigger and brighter than ever.

Mr. President, I am ready for duty. I am ready to stir those old pots again. Let's roll up our sleeves and get to work.

That is really disgusting. She needs to check her cupboards. I think someone has tampered with her Kool-aid stash.

2. Neos have been coveting Brazil for a while. She has family there.
People on the ground in NO have to move ahead and try and feel secure. Otherwise - if hope and normalcy do not return - many hundreds of thousands will have PTSD.

That is her job now. To push the healing.

At least this time Bush cannot get away with "Not Healing" his people. Like he purposely didn't do after 9/11. Any adult involved in the aftermath of Katrina directly - has to push for healing and dial down the crisis.

I don't see how Brazil has any choice. Same a Nagin or Blanco.

The rest of the people - people not traumatized - can continue with the questions of Why?

14. No - actually - in the weeks and months ahead it matters intensely
what your environment is like. PTSD occurs when people are traumatized again and again. You can take one trauma in a certain spot and your body may protect you and put you into denial till you are ready to grieve and cry & negotiate. But if your are repeatedly put into situations where the trauma hit again and again - that is when people develop PTSD. So some may have it -because of the delays or because they had already been traumatized - but most will not. Most can avoid it if they can sit and talk about it, be surrounded by people who understand and love them, see their feelings and anger and loss reflected back at them, start to feel secure and find normalcy & build new routines. All of this is very, very important.

So the discussion as to Why? does not need to be theirs until they come out the other side and ask it themselves. We can continue on in places away from them to ask questions and find meaning. But for now - they need to not feel like victims. They need to feel in control and like vanquishers. Little children need crayons to draw pictures and play "rescue - playing out all roles" with each other again and again... where they rescue themselves and help and are helped ...

So - as much as Brazil is not reflecting us or our feelings - she is reflecting the feelings of a Million - even if that isn't how she feels inside. And they need her. They need her to do this. We do not.

3. This is the same Donna Brazille that wrote that stupid report on Ohio
Edited on Sat Sep-17-05 09:44 PM by mrdmk
elections in 2004 saying there may have been some problems for the Democrats. This is the same Donna Brazille the ran Al Gore's election in 2000 who keep telling him stay the course and do not respond. There are a number of other stupid acts she has committed along the way also. I do not want to comment any further about Donna Brazille.

11. That DNC Report Was NOT Stupid & Detailed The Problems That They
had solid evidence to prove happened.

You do NOT know what the fuck you are talking about.

Donna was on AARadio and SAID that there were problems with the electonic machines but that they didn't have the PHYSICAL EVIDENCE to include it.

How about waking up and addressing FACTS rather than spouting your biased vitriol against someone who is working to make things better.

4. During Gore's run, I cringed when she turned up on TV -
was never sure what benefit she provided to the Dems...but we always seem to struggle to find people that aggressively and effectively represent our views. And that is odd, because I think that those on the left are much better thinkers (dare I say more intelligent??) than many if not most on the right.

Donna the Democratic party is not the party it was in 2000, or even 2004. We've tried things your way. My God, have we tried. If you want to praise a man and a regime that seems to excel only at destruction and unnecessary death, then please, for the sake of sheer tact, turn in whatever Democratic credentials you may have and take a walk to the other side - you don't belong here anymore.

8. Donna Brazile RAN President Gore's WINNING campaign
So she DOES know how to WIN...it's not Donna's fault that the Bush bastard Fascist's STOLE the election off of her after her candidate had in fact WON.

Donna also had close family members missing because of Hurricane Katrina, thankfully her family eventually were found alive.

Donna has worked TIRELESSLY for a LONG time for the good of the Louisiana Democratic Party. So, come on, please cut her some slack.

9. Donna is better off being true to herself and switching parties ...
That way her and her BUDDY, Karl Rove, can get all cozy out in the open. She's an embarrassment to all that is supposed to be a "Democratic Strategist". Hate to see her on CNN because she sucks and toes a DLC line unfailingly.

Don't forget, Al Gore went "to the left" after the election. Donna Brazille has always kissed corporate a**. IMO she's not an ally to anyone who does not IDOLIZE large corporate control of our government. But she fits in nicely within the crones at the DLC.

18. Why? So BushCo can install Jeb as President?
How many election losses will it take before we're supposed to get up off of our knees from paying homage to people like Brazile and question not only their effectiveness, but their loyalties as well? How many more of our fundamental rights guaranteed under the Bill of Rights are we willing to give up before we start to wonder about the people charged with opposing BushCo.? How many of our sons and daughters have to die in a war based on lies before we get upset and demand that our leadership quit enabling Smirky the Mad in silence? Donna has used up all the slack available.

And if she really believes what you just said, she should have anticipated what happened in the next two elections those DEM strategists lost for us.

I also cringed every time I saw her on TV. She has no idea how to fight for our party. She does know how to lay down and play dead thought.

A LOT.

Her strategies & talking points helped us win last 3 election cycles- So who are we to question her subtle brand of genius?

Shoot- I would have quiet lunches with Karl Rove too- I'm sure, all politics aside, he is a great guy.
