Mike Brown put on desk duty while Michael Chertoff keeps up
the arrogance and delusion of this administration. On September 9, 2005 Michael Chertoff the Secretary of the "Department of Homeland Security" (I don't know about you but I am not feeling very secure days before the fourth anniversary of 9-11) made an announcement at a press conference where Mike Brown, 11 days after Hurricane Katrina hit was "returned" to Washington. Secretary Chertoff said, "Mike Brown has done everything he possibly could to coordinate the Federal response to this unprecedented challenge. I appreciate his work as does everybody here." Let's stop there a second. First of all, the majority of Americans watching that mad-made disaster of a response to the natural disaster could SEE with their own eyes that Mike Brown NOT only failed to do "everything he possibly could" he lied to the American people, both those in dire need and those watching at home. For three or four days, depending on when you would like to start counting he repeated the lie that help was coming when clearly it was NOT. Second, speak for yourself Mr. Chertoff, I DO NOT APPRECIATE the "work" that Mike Brown did while he was pretending to be something he was not; specifically, qualified to be acting as if he could handle this enormous task of protecting the Americans in New Orleans. Okay, that said, Mr. Chertoff went on to say, "I have returned Mike Brown to administering FEMA nationally." WHOA! Hold it right there. I mean really, couldn't you just give him a medal and send him on his way. Why on Earth would you keep paying him? Better question, "why on Earth would you STILL think he was qualified to go back to Washington and continue in his position? Even better question, "Will anyone survive the next disaster if you allow Mike Brown to administer anything in FEMA?" Then, there was the really bothersome moment when someone at the conference spoke directly to Mike Brown asking him about resignations and resumes to which Mr. Chertoff responded immediately. Hmm. Odd. He was standing right there, he heard the question, he has a mouth...anyway, Chertoff snapped, "Here are the ground rules. (Gee, just when I thought you were making them up as you go along) I (strong emphasis on I) am going to answer the questions. I've explained what we're doing, uh, about as clear as I possibly could in English as to what I am doing and why I am doing it." Hey, no need to cop an attitude there Mr. Chertoff. What's the matter, the man the President put in charge of FEMA can't answer questions himself? Why not? Is that a contagious kind of thing that Mr. Brown caught from Mr. Bush? Why is it that you buffer him from being accountable for himself. Aside from the obvious of course, which, the way I see it is that his complete and utter incompetence has made the matter much worse ever since day one. It's prudent of you to keep him quiet. My opinion is there is no controlling this damage.

4. I wonder where else I could post it? It's too long for a letter to the
editor. I intend to send it to Gov. officials too.

7. Brown still collecting a paycheck!
It's our tax dollars paying this fool; that is not okay.

There are plenty of people no longer collecting anything; they've lost it all. But Brown is still on the payroll, and a handsome one it is. Fired. He needs to be fired, not picking up a check. Surely we have better ways to spend our money that we borrow from the Chinese.

8. Surely we do have better ways to spend this money. I thought
Rethugs were all about efficiency, you know, running the gov like a business. What business exec would not be fired for such a colossal failure?
