Laura Bush SPEAKS: Criticism of Bush 'Disgusting'
Wife Says Criticism of Bush 'Disgusting'

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050909/ap_on_go_pr_wh/katrina_laura_bush&printer=1

Laura Bush described as "disgusting" comments by rapper Kanye West and Democratic chairman Howard Dean blaming her husband for the disproportionate number of black hurricane victims.

"I think all of those remarks are disgusting, to be perfectly frank, because of course President Bush cares about everyone in our country," the first lady said Thursday in an interview with American Urban Radio Networks.

"And I know that. I mean, I'm the person who lives with him," she said. "I know what he's like and I know what he thinks and I know how he cares about people."

The president has faced sharp criticism over federal relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina victims, who are disproportionally black and poor.

2. Thanks for clearing that up, Laura.
The speculation has ended. In the fine tradition of the Bush family, you, too, are a sociopath.

9. Holy Moley!
That is one great caption/picture combo.

And Laura, the original Stepford Wife! The country club b***h, 'jee, these shelters don't look so bad!"

I would have loved to have seen her at the Superdome or Convention Center or Louis Armstrong Airport where people are dying right before the tv cameras.

Then maybe we can redefine 'disgusting' as the real world sees it.

4. If he had really cared,
he would not have made speeches, played guitar, and eaten birthday cake while the hurricane was making landfall.

He would have been on the phone seeing to it that people were being saved.

Can you imagine FDR, Truman, Johnson, Kennedy, Carter, or Clinton fiddling while NO drowned?

And why did Cheney go South today? Was it to see that Halliburton got even more profits? (They have a contract for cleanup)

We can all just stop posting these nasty old anti-Bush threads cause HIS WIFE says he is a nice guy.

Now if he could just get a note from his mommy, it would be all good.

When he found out that John McCain was having that sort of cake, he just had to get hisself over there for a little piece"

"Oh yeah, he also really likes gittar music, so that little detour had a good explanation as well....doesn't he play pretty?"

since he's trotting them all out. Notice? Mommy, Poppy, Jeb came to his defense, and now -- Laura. I think that covers most of the family.

18. Anyone else think it odd, referring to her husband as "President Bush"?
It reads like a scripted press release (of course it is, but...). It seems a bizarre way to speak when defending a spouse from such a personal attack.

20. WHEN DID CRITICIZING THE PRESIDENT
BECOME EITHER IMMORAL OR ILLEGAL???

My gawd, they criticized Clinton for even breathing, and nothing Hillary could say made the slightest bit of difference.

Bush is just another politician. NOT God.

Criticizing him is not only moral, legal and normal, it's a routine part of existing as a democracy!

22. I totally agree. He is the president of the United States.
Edited on Fri Sep-09-05 02:25 AM by MintOreoCookie
Did she really think that he wouldn't be criticized? Yeah, I am sure Bush cares so much about everyone. Anyone who truly cared would have stopped his 5-week vacation and run to tell the people that he was with them and would do whatever he could to help them. No, Bush felt it necessary to go to California first to boost his ratings. Yeah, Laura, he really cares, doesn't he?

Oh, by the way, Laura, STFU (shut the f**k up).
