More specifically, what is the idea behind the photo collage of "hero Bush" in his Iwo Jima pose on 9/11 and Bush again during his much-delayed, photo-op-like visit to the Katrina disaster zone? In neither case did Bush act like the "hero" or "compassionate guy" seemingly portrayed in these misleading photos.

I won't go into detail - you know the facts as well as I do - but will merely say that there is not a heroic, compassionate bone in this president's fit, buff body, no matter how many gushy pictures you publish.
