I just called Harry Reid's office and UNLOADED....

First about this crap that Bush is spinning about how Katrina couldn't have been predicted--about the repeated cuts and cries for funding from LA; about the cronyism that has destroyed FEMA, how Dems in Washington better wake up and go after Bushco and how they should tie Bush and the GOP together as the corrupt, inept creeps that they are, how the Democratic roots are the ones dying in LA, how Roberts is another crony in judges robes and he needs to be fought if nothing else, to educate people for the next one, how the courts will screw the country for years to come, how Reid should get them all into a room and tell them all to SHUT UP so one message can go out, how Biden should quit the Senate and go to work for MBNA, how the DLC should stop undercutting Dean, how he should go talk to the House Black Caucus because they're just the only ones with any fight in them....

very pleasant young man told me that I should talk to my friends and that the Senate staffer T-shirts had "Give em hell Harry" on the backs.

I said that's nice, but the leadership in Washington better see what's going on outside the Loop. I told him people on the internet were smarter than the people in Washington and that he should read DU, Buzzflash and other sites. I said this party was about to break open if Dems didn't fight and stand for the real principles of the party. I said I'd never give another cent to them if they didn't take the gloves off and stop this "pansy-assed" business (he liked that term).

I just let it rip. I told he a lot of us were PISSED. Not the ones sitting at the party breakfasts, but the people out in their raising money, etc. on the internet...

I also said I hope Harry was feeling better and was ready to fight...

Call Harry Reid's office and tell him the angry woman from New Mexico did what he said to do--talk to my friends!

End of rant.

1. I called and politely told them about the same
Told them how heartbroken I was to see them losing support right and left by allowing so many Vichy Collaborators in their midst... Told them I'd voted Dem my entire life but that this is about to change if they don't develop a collective spine and throw the collaborating bums out so that they can fight Bush more effectively.

I pointed out the same thing you did about the internet posters being a lot more aware than our so-called reps in DC. You can't lead from the rear you know...

Hope you're feeling better. I'm not sure I am. Everytime I make a call like this it makes me sadder because they just don't seem to get it and the gulf between me and the party just widens.

6. I know how you feel, Gloria. I called yesterday and said the same
although perhaps with a teensy bit less aggitation, because the people I was calling were Barbara "Backbone" Boxer and my Congressman, the usually-pretty-damned-righteous Henry Waxman.

I said Helen Thomas was correct (again) and that Democrats need to PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TAKE A STAND!!!!!

Look, I know you're frustrated and angry. I am, too. I've turned into a mean ol' kvetch around our house. I wake up in the morning and go to bed at night feeling like a frickin' hostage to this criminal cabal. But we have to keep doing it.

Keep doing it. PLEASE try not to lose heart. And don't give up nagging them. What you said to Reid's person was spot-on, and needs to be said, read, and SPREAD!

Visualize IMPEACHMENT!!!!!!!!!!
Then go DO something about it!!!!!!!!!!!

Bush's ineptitude in a forceful way.

Others need to follow Clark's example and "get some starch!" like Clark was fond of telling dems to do during the campaign.

Then just this morning, the President claimed that no one could have anticipated the levee breaches we've seen in New Orleans after Katrina hit. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4204754.stm
That's not leadership, that's an excuse.

In fact, people have predicted this kind of disaster for many years, including President Bush's own FEMA in 2001, when they ranked hurricane flood damage to New Orleans among the three likeliest, most catastrophic disasters facing America. Instead, funding was significantly cut back, leaving key engineering projects on hold. Instead,
this Administration focused on the war in Iraq, tax cuts, and private sector economic growth without asking the American people to make needed sacrifices for the good of the country. Again I ask you, where is the leadership?

9. Yes, THERE ARE PEOPLE DYING!
Edited on Fri Sep-02-05 01:00 AM by Clarkie1
And we owe it to them for the TRUTH TO BE OUT!

I can't believe there aren't others who aren't getting the truth out about Bush's lack of leadership to prevent much of this tragedy, and I want to know why they are.

I support any concerned citizens putting the blame where it belongs because THE PEOPLE WHO ARE DYING BECAUSE OF THIS LACK OF LEADERSHIP DERSERVE THAT FROM US!

And despite your dislike for an individual at the forefront today of speaking truth to power for the people who have died, will die, and all America, next time please spare me your childish platitudes...there are more productive ways to confront with this tragedy, and learn from it.

NO...I most certainly WILL NOT STOP!

But if you really "want it to stop," why not just folllow the link and post your "please stop" thoughts to Wes Clark himself. Better yet, get some starch...

10. People dying in this case was a political decision.....
made by Bush.....as is all things connected to George Bush.

Politics is but putting in order the priorities that one might support....as if you didn't know!

So no, no need to stop being political.....not even for one day.

Whether we stop or start will not help these folks....cause the kind of help that they need should have been in place a long time ago.

PS. At my bible studies tonight, we collected $3,000 from only 50 people.

So you see, we can do it all!
