Freepers STILL have no links to donate to Katrina relief...
And they are totally clueless about what's going on:

I hope it's not due to looters shooting at them.

Several freepers predicted that yesterday.

This was just reported on CNN as FEMA was making the announcement at their press conference. Too dangerous to be using boats to rescue people. Cannot believe the hoodlums have gotten FEMA to stop Search and Rescue missions.

Bush needs to come out and say we aren't f'n around here and all looters will be shot on spot. This is absolutely embarrassing. This just shows how much of a moral chaos this country is in.

They said it was too dangerous with rescuerers being shot at and they have pulled all their people from S&R.

Prayers that sanity and calm are restored....it will take a miracle just for that, it seems.

The looters need to be shot dead so that people can be saved. As to whether or not the political will exists to do what should be done, that is questionable.

Imagine how this looks to the rest of the world? What an embarrassment for all those trying their best to make things better. Maybe they should just start shooting the looters.

Can you confirm that "too dangerous" meant because of the danger from violent rescuees? Or was it "too dangerous" becasue of floating debris etc.?

1. They certainly seem to be concerned about the looting..save the
stuff! Come back for (any) survivors later (if schedules permit). Nice folks, arent' they.

4. LOOTING VS. SURVIVAL
Maybe it's that I've had 65 years worth of diverse experiences -- vs. the 20 somethings who have never been in this situation -- but IF MY family's survival depended on my ability to get necessary water, food and other items during a period when basic supply infrastructure systems have totally collapsed, I'd be out there getting what I needed to keep them fed and well ANY way -- short of a capital crime (IF POSSIBLE!) -- I could.

And, despite all the testosterone induced BS being flung around by these 20 somethings with limited life experiences and no kids to care for, SO WOULD THEY!!

What I would do that most of the current looters are probably NOT doing is leave a trail and record so I could make recompense to the establishment from which I obtained those items.

Having said that, these criminals seen carting away NON-ESSENTIAL ITEMS need to be prosecuted if they can be identified once order is restored.

Katrina proves that we are ALL -- and I DO mean A L L -- one short step away from "Lord of The Flies."

Which explains why I have significant stocks of freeze-dried, nitrogen packed foodstuffs close at hand.

And the means -- and will -- to defend me and mine.

5. FReeptards are America's home grown TERRORISTS!!!!!!
That's all they think about is killing people. No wonder they support bu$h's wars. They are natural born KILLERS. They are the ones who get their panties in a bunch over their damn GUN RIGHTS. GUNS make it a lot easier for them to KILL.But they are the LAST ones to want to go to Iraq and risk THEIR lives. Gawd,I hate those idiots.

6. Saving liberals not a priority
I can see all those conservatives "acting" while liberals whine. 'Course it's liberals fault there's "moral chaos" in this country. They still think prayers are going to restore calm. Maybe yer boy shit-fer-brains, the laziest ass alive, do nothing, self-centered POS phony gittar playin' son of a bitch can perform a "miracle" fer us. Ya think?

7. What has become apparent
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 01:02 PM by delen
is that the only survivers that will be "saved" are the ones that were in the SuperDome. Read between the lines, they're no longer rescuing people they are protecting them from looters. Who are the looters?
Well, how is anyone in NO not in the dome or part of the "rescue operation" surviving? This could be called-

"Operation improve the demographics by any means necessary"

What it really should be called is MASS MURDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edited for spelling

11. Yes true
those that are committing crimes should be stopped, however the shoot to kill and figure it out later or not at all is reprehensible last night night there was a report of people being shot for "looting" food.

14. I must say that I'd shoot someone on the spot if they
were raping someone, particularly a child, as has been reported.

I know that's not the way our justice system works, but, hell, if I see it with my own eyes, I know I haven't made a mistake.

That said, I firmly believe we need to get these people OUT of this fresh hell so the aggressive behavior is mitigated.

Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 01:58 PM by SoCalifer
The government totally F*'ed up on this one and are now trying to play catch up.

So how convenient it is to buy you a little more time by making up a report of a shooting at a aid relief helicopter.

I see this report as a classic diversionary excuse to explain why adequate aid still isn't pouring in.

Do you really think people in a desperate situation are going to shoot at someone coming to save them?

13. They are
using one 'copter getting shot at to hundreds or more people stranded on rooftops and other places and if they can get to anywhere else, to get food or water they could be shot as looters. There has been an announcement that additional shelters have been set up, but if you've been stranded for four days how do you know this?
