That would get the Democrats some media coverage.

1. Not a bad idea
With Frist in charge of the Senate and Hastert-Delay in charge of the House, impeachment is impossible.

By the way, I saw a bumper sticker that said Reagan: We need you now more than ever. Of course, this is stupid, but it says to me that people that should be in Bush's corner like this ignorant person are turning to other Repub figures. Now we Dems have to destroy the whole Repub brand, not just Bush.

5. remember Nixon
the only reason he resigned was because he knew he was about to be impeached and probably tried and convicted for obstruction of justice. If we don't continue to call for investigation and impeachment, nothing will happen. Asking for resignation doesn't seem to imply that Bush should be held accountable for his crimes. And if he's not a criminal, why resign?

11. "I've got a life to live"
Reportedly he* did say, "I think it's also important for me to go on with my life" and "I've got a life to live".

Is resignation what he was asking for? Why not just sign the papers of resignation? Perhaps he*s thinking its a negotiation? Wants something in return?

Mineta served the post under Clinton and Bush kept him on.

19. Presidential succession goes like this...
Vice President

Speaker of the House

President Pro Tem of the Senate

Secretary of State

And then all of the other cabinet members in the order in which their department was created.

Norman Mineta is the only Democrat in Bush's cabinet.

Edited on Sat Aug-20-05 06:54 PM by TheCentepedeShoes
sent a letter to Nixon asking for his resignation. That worked, maybe I should try it again.

On edit and with more brain cell on line: back then, we had Ford as the VP, now what CHENY! What if that's been the plan all along?
