James Taranto (WSJ) "understands" why rednecks mowed down white crosses
Edited on Thu Aug-18-05 04:19 PM by Julius Civitatus
The opinion piece of this hateful loon James Taranto, of the Wall Street Journal, is disgusting, hate-filled and highly inappropriate. He compares the crowd joining Cindy Sheehan to an "invading" force, and Larry Northern to the insurgency.

His hate-filled retort pretends to be a vitriolic low-blow to the left, but it ends up being extremely inappropriate and barely adequate as a comparison.

Only the raving fascists at the WSJ editorial board could come up with something like this:

7. arguing against his own argument
"Think about it: If outside settlers were occupying your land, demonizing your leaders and slandering your country, wouldn't you have feelings of rage and hopelessness?"

Kinda like, er, Iraq?

:eyes:

Critical thinking is in such demand at the WSJ.

15. No, nothing like Iraq at all!
Because Cindy Sheehan is a force OCCUPYING a, uh, ditch, in a ....country she is a citizen in....and she's SLANDERING Bush as if she had some right to...uh....criticize.. and she's DEMONIZING our leaders, that's not right, even if the leader were a democrat, like...Clinton.. Oh, never mind.

Well, she's RUINING Bush's vacation and what's more, she's allied with Moveon.org! There, that's the difference. Cindy is a liberal, therefore it's okay to HATE her!

8. Um, yes, I do understand . .
I was a teenager when the entire state of Mississippi went screaming batshit with rage when National Guard troops escorted James Meredith onto the campus of Ole Miss. It's a weird psychological state. I was already doubted the standard white supremacy mindwashing, yet I felt the anger too. When somebody else's combat boot hits your turf, all fine distinctions are lost. It's also why I figured the invasion of Iraq would turn into one gigantic clusterfuck, even without other Bushco screwups. People get very pissed off when strangers invade their country.

12. You're absolutely right...
When boots hit the ground, it's scary...

My mom said the same thing about when she was in the hospital (1968) giving birth to me. She said there were riots in the neighborhood surrounding the hospital, and there were National Guards patrolling the hospital.

She said she wasn't sure who to fear more - the rioters or the National Guard! :) And mind you, she had a brother who was in the National Guard at the time!

16. if they felt that way
(i recall Abe Lincoln was reputed to have thought about this) why didn't the racists just set aside a part of the country for a black dominion? if the whites didn't like the blacks, and if they didn't want to rub shoulders etc, then why didn't they insist a part of the country be set aside so the blacks could start their own country?
this is a facetious question, but...
since god is a negro (before there was light, there was only blackness, and god, the bible says)
ot...how did god read btw?
