Dean polling 41% of black voters
In a Washington Post poll <http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac3/ContentServer?pagename=polls&nextstep=displayQuestion&interactive=n&pollid=2003352&pripollid=&varname=q998_lea&privarname=&questCategoryType=n&questCategory=Variables.questCategory&keyword=Variables.keyword&pollDateRange=Variables.pollDateRange&ctabtype=A&startingRow=31&pollType=National&searchPollId=2003352&newsearch=[br />] Dean is leading the pack with 31% of the vote. When broken down by race, he is getting 30% of the White vote, and 41% of the Black vote.

So I guess the "confederate flag" thing hasn't hurt him too badly.

Anybody but bush.

1. Does it list the sample sizes for each race?

Extrapolating based on the numbers the ratio looks to be 10:1 or greater, which would put the MOE so high it could make your head spin :).

2. *Jaw drops*
It could be because nearly the entire CBC has endorsed him.

3. Dean is unelectable...
He has no southern appeal, black appeal, latino appeal, young person appeal, crossover appeal, human appeal, etc etc.

:)

Lets put that lie to a rest as it is becoming clearly evident. I hope the other 8 canddates will campaign on an idea other than, "Im more electable than Dean". This is truly becoming a foolish and presumptuous position that is probably false from these numbers rolling in. Im sure though a few camps will give me 20 responses regarding polls nd reasons he appeals to them now but wont in the general. Yeah, yeah.

5. "Humans for Dean"
would make a nice campaign button. :-)

6. Please see disclaimer at bottom of poll
Edited on Mon Dec-22-03 11:08 PM by MidwestMomma
It says:

# A red column header indicates that there were not enough respondents in a particular category to insure reliable results.

Please note the Black column header is in red.

Thank you for your time.

edited to be nicer!

I am not being ugly, I don't see it there.

On Edit I do see only 31%, but that link above does not look like what you describe.

9. When you click on the results by 'race'
The page displays with the results by race with the column 'Black' in red and the note at the bottom.

Maybe I go crazy. It's possible. I am a member of DU!

14. Given the fact that Dean is polling around 30% nationwide, these are about
right IMO. I doubt there is a massive disparity between white and black support given everyother poll I have seen.

15. Maybe you aren't seeing the 'box' in the corner
The poll is for 'Democrats'. Then there is a box in the upper right hand corner to view results by different categories.

It's kind of confusing.....

Do you see this box?

Results By:
Sex
Race
Education
Age
Region

Internet browsers suck sometimes!
