don't be worried or upset about the billions in tax breaks to oil companies (who are reporting record revenues) or sweetheart pork going to Tom DeLie's district or protection from civil litigation for gas companies or encouraging deep sea drilling.....oh no....let the MSN make a stink abut extending daylight-fucking-savings!!!! as if that means SHIT! not to mention it won't save a GOD DAM BIT OF ENERGY when every asshole is driving an SUV!!!

fuck fuck fuck i'm pissed! :argh:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050729/ap_on_go_co/daylight_saving_time

As Congress voted to extend daylight-saving time, some parents whose children wait for school buses in the morning darkness doubted whether an extra month of daylight is such a bright idea.

<snip>

According to Congress' thinking, if Americans can wait an hour to turn on their lights at night, the nation should be able to conserve at least some energy.

3. Is this right?
DST is extended by 2 months to save energy (money, really).

Then, what was it - a $billion? - was given to Haliburton and friends as a reward for meeting goals more or less on time as a reward, tacked on in the middle of the night to the energy bill.

Is that right? Please correct me if I got that wrong. I would really like to have my facts straight on this.

4. And these idiots
never considered that everyone will have to turn their light on an hour earlier in the morning.

But what can we expect from a body that has created a standard for toilets that won't flush even a small politician (errrrr.... make that turd) down the drain.

Have they modified the voting machine standards so that we can't flush the turds (errrrr.... make that politicians) their either x(

5. This is good...
For those of us that suffer from seasonal depression we will now have more light after work and when we really need sleep we won't have the sun coming up at an ungodly hour in the A.M. And screw the kids they have it to easy. Seriously the solution is to make school 9 to 5.

6. I really don't like or want DST during the summer.
Why not in the winter?

My little kids don't want to go to bed until 10pm because of DST.

It is different in the south. In Arizona they don't observe DST cause they don't wan't hundred degree temps at nine at night with the sun out to boot. They do that all year round however. What I propose for Texas is year round DST with a 3 month rollback in the summer.
It could be tailored to fit the states. In New England you need the sun in the winter. Of course we are up against stock market timing and an oil industry that knows when the sun goes down driving drops off dramatically.
