Guess they hearings aren't going to start as early as Frist first said. That's gotta hurt!

*edit for typo on date

1. I thought Spector said he wanted to start the last week of Aug.
The media was saying how pi**ed off the Senators were because he was cutting their vacation short!

Do you suppose cspan has just scheduled their coverage according the normal schedule and simply will change it if they are notified that the boys will be back early?

2. No, I think it was just announced by the Senate and C-Span
picked up the news. Not sure where they got it because I haven't seen it anywhere else.

I know the repugs were trying to get snotty and wanted to schedule the hearings the last week of August to spite the Dems. Maybe they met some resistence on their own side of the aisle. Wouldn't want any of the repugs to have to cut short their vacations with the special interest and lobby guys to come back to DC to work.

4. No, I think Spector was trying to make the hearing time longer
so there would be time to gt a confirmation by Oct 2nd. It looked like most of the opposition was coming from the Pubs.

3. Has any congresscritter brought up the subject
of Roberts' role in the 2000 election? I do not know if that can be held against him, but it seems to me it needs at least to be brought out.
