What happened to the press briefing

The White House home page had an announcement for a 1:15 press briefing up until a few minutes ago. It's disappeared now with no mention of an upcoming briefing. Did Scottie finally break down?

probably a higher up decision about controlling the news cycle with the SCOTUS appointment

they've got some scheme in mind.

8. probably are counting on a drip of leaks about the appointee

all day long. Like they said it will be announced at 9. Why not just announce it now? I expect they want to keep reporters speculating all day. They'll feed them bits of info to keep them talking about something besides Rove and the leak.

That's my guess.

4. I thought Scottie was a professional

until he made that comment to the press corps that started out, "You all know me and...." When he personalized the issues, he lost any semblence of professionalism....he's an amateur....he's a hack.

That guy lies so well it's scary. He's the best I've ever seen. You might actually believe him if you didn't know better.
