Would you start ignoring Treasongate if Bush names a SCOTUS nominee?
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 11:50 AM by FormerRepublican
Talking heads on TV are saying the Plame thing will just go away when Bush names his SCOTUS nominee this week. When I heard that, I about swallowed my tongue.

I'm really ANGRY about the WH lying to me and betraying our country for political purposes. I don't care if Bush shouts out his SCOTUS nominee. I don't think the WH should get ONE SINGLE THING DONE until they get rid of the leakers in the White House and apologise to the American public for lying to us. That includes getting a new judge on the SC!

NO, I WILL NOT FORGET JUST BECAUSE BUSH SPOUTS ANOTHER DISTRACTION!!!

The more those crooks talk, the angrier I get. They truly think they can get away with this! I WILL hold these SOBs accountable!

2. None of the speculation going on now matters
Whether he names 1 or 2 to SCOTUS, Fitzgerald isn't going to stop working on his case.

If and When Fitzgerald comes back with an indictment (or indictments) all other news will be put on the back burner.

It's just WH shills trying to get the focus off of the crimes they've committed

7. That's my point.
The White House should take the full brunt of public opinion on what they've done.

There is more to this than just legal issues. There are also ethical issues involved.

I don't think we should let ourselves be distracted from pressuring those SOBs for what they've done. They WILL pay - both with heaps of public scorn, and legal retribution. I am OUTRAGED and I WILL NOT BE SILENCED because the WH thinks they have a new spin or distraction.

What the h*ll does this say to other CIA agents risking their lives for the US? It says the US Government DOESN'T CARE about their LIFE!!

I'm sooooo disgusted by this whole thing!

3. Please fix your title.
Never use the victim with the "gate" suffix it denotes the story is about them. This is about Karl Rove and the White House.

Thanks

4. Which talking heads are saying that?
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 11:57 AM by Jack Rabbit
EDITED for typing

The ones on FoxNews don't count.

Of course, Bush is going to name a SCOTUS nominee. He has to. It will be important news when it happens and should be covered.

Does that mean the Plame unmasking story is going to go away? No. Fitzgerald and the grand jury are going to issue a report and possibly indictments of people whose names are familiar to us. When that happens, it will be news.

8. MSNBC show with Ron Reagan.

They actually made a pretty good case that what the White House did was wrong, but then they went and ruined it all by saying the whole story would just go away when Bush names his SCOTUS nominee later this week. The Dem on the show agreed that it would all just disappear with a SCOTUS nominee.

THAT is the part that made me mad. I am NOT going to forget this just because Bush comes up with some dipsy religious right kissing whacko for the SCOTUS.

The White House should get NOTHING until the leak issue is addressed. They're stonewalling us, and it's only fair to stonewall them back.

10. They are stonewalling
Edited on Mon Jul-18-05 12:10 PM by Jack Rabbit
What lies behind the stonewalling is the whole apparatus of how a bogus case for war was made. That's not just newsworthy; that's epic.

The issue won't just go away unless these very same people let it go away. Unfortunately, we have good reason to believe that they have exactly that in mind.

6. I'm already spending too much of my work day...
...reading these forums and getting aggravated about Rove/Plame.... If there is a controversial SCOTUS nominee, I might stop working entirely... and I'll be really grumpy too... But there is NO WAY IN HELL I will forget about the lying liars and the lies they are spouting.
