Kudos, I did not realize Colorado Democrats took control of the House and Senate....that is super.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on Thursday praised Colorado Democrats for taking control of the state House and Senate last year and indirectly took a jab at Focus on the Family, which recently started a nonprofit group to address public policy concerns. During a fundraiser, Dean said state Democratic Party leaders turned the state into a swing state last year and he promised to work hard for more Democratic victories next year.

"Boy, you sure did have a big lift with that legislative election last year," Dean told a crowd of about 300 people, who contributed about $45,000 at a fund-raiser.

(There was another fundraiser for $25 earlier)

The former presidential candidate said Democrats are focusing on families, who are willing to sacrifice for their children.

"If you want to focus on the family, focus on minimum wage. If you want to focus on the family, focus on smaller class size," Dean said in an apparent reference to Colorado Springs-based Focus on the Family, whose public policy arm has campaigned against gay marriage. Dean said gay marriage is not mentioned once in the Bible.

Focus on the Family did not answer calls after hours....."

Focus on the Family is James Dobson's group.

1. Dean is doing a great job. He's taking the Pubs on head to head!
I'm glaad to hear everything he has to say, and I'm proud that our leader is displaying these tactics. I just hope it transfers to those who already got elected!

Teach 'em how to do it Howard!

4. Yes. My represenative and my state senator..
are both majority leaders and I'm VERY proud of them.

Andrew Romanoff is the Speaker of the House
Ken Gordon is the State Majority Leader

They have both worked well together and worked hard to put several key legislations and pass them.

'Course, Blowens decided to veto 33 of 'em. count em. 33 of 'em. When we had Dem governors, the largest they've vetoed was about 18, and that's all when Repukes had the majority of both houses and senate for a time.

6. Good grief
talk about major power. Your district must get state funding out the wazoo with both majority leaders.

7. Ah, that governor.
That is the one in that terrible ACLU debate where he kept talking terror terror, and Dean kept trying to point out the hypocrisy of losing our freedoms, and to point out that he was using terror....and your gov just kept on talking. He never shut up, he just had his talking points down. He is very unlikable.

Well, at least you guys have some congressional power. Here our Democrats are so few in number, they go along to get along. They take a lot of pride in cooperating with their Republican friends.

5. McCain said a while back that Dean is the gift that keeps on giving.
I agree. The problem is the Republicans can't take it.

9. Focus on the Family is anything but.
Behind their facade they are nothing but mean spirited bigots.

And Great For Dean to speak out! He is what we Need!

I got on the Focus mailing list and the last thing they sent out had an article in it about how civil unions are not healthy and gave examples of how well people do in a marriage as compared to just living together.

AND THESE PEOPLE WANT TO BAN GAY MARRIAGE. LOOK ME IN THE EYE AND TELL ME THAT YOU CARE! Bunch on nasty vermin if you ask me.

10. Once again, Dean speaks for me!
I love this man. We're going to name our server after him (and if you know me, you know that's akin to naming my firstborn after him!)
