"The Christian Right is Neither."
Remember the old meme, "The Moral Majority is Neither?" I was just listening to L'il Tucker saying the WH press corps "never met the Christian Right, they hate the Christian Right!" and started thinking about the "Christian Right."

They give Christians a bad name. The word "Right" implies what they are -- a political movement, not a religious or moral one, and certainly nothing related to what I know as Christianity, or what I understand about Jesus.

Is there anything wrong with saying, "The Christian Right is Neither?" If it's offensive (not to them, but to you), I want to know.

1. I think it's absolutely true
and I think it should be a bumper sticker. And when it is, I'd like to buy one. (Cafe Press, anyone?)

They want to keep throwing around Orwellian phrases? Then we keep throwing them back and calling BS.

4. Wow! Okay...
I would like a million dollars and a MINI Cooper and a Malibu PJ from the 70s with the purple eyes. Oh, and can you get my novel published, too?

Thanks! :hi:

10. Hee hee.
Nah. I just play him on TV.

Besides, I'm way German, and enjoy granting favors to people with cool Marlene Dietrich themed names.

13. That seems to be a very small market niche
:D

(You know, I just sat here for the longest time trying to figure out what FSC meant. Even looked it up on Netlingo. And then just now realized what a big dork I was!)

5. the Christian right collectively is complicit in the following:
The 3-year old in Fla getting his head bashed in because his father (P.O.S.) was afraid he was gay.

The killing of abortion doctors.

The exploitation of a dying woman and her family during a time of sorrow and grief.

On and On and On...

If Rick Santorum can say this bullshit about Bostonians, then I can say it about the religious right. And I am not going to apologize.

They preach hate speech.
They don't love their neighbor as they love themselves(or the dollar).
They are neither loving nor tolerant.
They are hippocrites.
They do not honor the 10 commandments that they so zealously argue for(in public).
They dishonor the Constitution of the United States of America.

14. OT: what exactly does your signature line mean?
Is it a calling-out of some unnamed DUers or something?

15. The so-called Christian Right are direct descendants of the Dixiecrats
Like the Dixiecrats of old, the CR are hateful, violent bigots who hide behind, use, and politicize religion to justify their outlandish ideology. They are the neo-segregationists.

The CR wants the same things the Dixiecrats wanted: segregated schools, law enforcement looking the other way while they commit atrocious, anti-Christian acts of terrorism against religious, ethnic, racial, and other minorities. And they're staunch male supremacists, like their Dixiecrat ancenstors. They'll vote against their economic interest so they can feel a little bigger and more powerful than their minority neighbors. In other words, they'd rather starve their own children to death before accepting their minority brothers and sisters in Christ as the equals they are.
