Take Lou Dobbs Poll Now : Should there be a law forcing pharmacists
to fill legal prescriptions (which go against their "moral" conscience : ie. birth control pills, morning after pill, etc..?

4. No kidding. Four hour erections...
and women can't "protect" themselves.

Poll says 93% in favor of legislation forcing pharmacists to fill ALL prescriptions. Encouraging, but not sure how representative. How many right-wing nuts are tuning into Lou Dobbs?

6. Thank you!
This issue really pisses me off. As a former health care professional it's all about supporting the PATIENTS needs and values NOT your own!

8. I have another idea about this. Ask these people before they
are employed whether or not they intend to do their job by filling all prescriptions. If the answer is yes, then that person gets the job. Otherwise, those pharmacists who do not agree with the idea of doing ones job either need to work for one another and form their own company or seek another profession.

9. If you have a problem dispensing prescribed drugs, then why the FUCK....
...are you a pharmacist in the first place?

Should NASCAR hire drivers who refuse to go over 70 MPH??

Would Phillip Morris hire an anti-tobacco activist to head their marketing division?

Do you think Ariel Sharon hires Palestinians to be his bulldozer mechanics??

This entire question is ridiculous. If you have a problem dispensing drugs prescribed by a doctor, you are not qualified to be a pharmacist, period.

13. If the pharmacies don't intend to sell birth control to certain
people, they shouldn't even stock it. It can't be legal for them to decide who they will sell it to.

14. If we can't get that law, then how about a law that
Edited on Tue Jun-21-05 07:29 PM by meg
requires a pharmacy to post the following:
1. policy on filling prescriptions, i.e. all of our pharmacists fill all prescriptions
2. if the pharmacy allows 'conscience' pharmacists, a prominently placed list of the names of the pharmacists, what prescriptions they won't fill and a listing of the work hours for these pharmacists.

It is only fair that a woman knows in advance which pharmacy to go to.

Also, if someone calls the pharmacy, the above information should be available on request.
