CBS has Bush at 42%? Big deal. He was at 42% exactly ONE year ago.

But the American people loved him enough in Nov. to deliver
him a mandate.

<sarcasm off>

Nothing has ever stuck to him.
And unless he is impeached, nothing ever will.

1. Give it time
The general trend has been downwards since the beginning of his presidency, with the exception of a couple spikes. If the trend contines without another attack, he'll be in the 30's within the next year or so. After that point, though, I don't think it will go down much more. No one will be able to make Bush seem infallable to about a third of the population.

3. Well, I hope you're right
and welcome to DU! I think the OP's point, though, is that the media will do whatever is necessary to lift his poll numbers out of the basement,as they appear to have done a year ago. In addition, since the elections can be stolen through paperless voting machines owned by repukes, polls don't matter during elections. Then, also, since * is a second term resident, what difference to poll numbers make? It seems that the vast majority of his repuke congress will still rubber stamp him for the most part, and don't get me started on the DINOs!

2. This time though
his numbers seem to be down in all areas. The number for the 'liking the direction the country is taking' and 'does he have the same goals as you' stuff is way down. Short of an attack I don't know what he can do to save this, no one likes what he wants from Social Security on down. Scarey times we are in.

4. its not that people loved Bush
but the sad and unpopular truth is that people didn't like Bush, but they couldn't see Kerry as a reasonable replacement. Essentially, they stayed with the devil they knew.

5. Wrong. He stole it. Big time. Go to the 2004 elections forum.

Its amazing how many DUers (outside of 2004 Elections) believe Bush actually won.

YOU MUST EDUCATE YOURSELVES.

6. does it show how Kerry lost 140,000 net votes in Ohio?
This is not 537 votes in Florida, this is a lot of people.

Im sure there was fraud, but I have yet to be persuaded that enough was perpetrated to give kerry the state.
