While I am not one to mix religion and politics, it does make me
feel somewhat better (although not very much) to know that Bush, Cheney, and their lying SOB cronies who profit at the death of others will burn in hell when they die. There, I said it. Does this make me like the GOP ultra right wing Bible beaters like Dobson, Robertson, Frist, et al??

I hope not.

1. They are atheists. They don't care.

3. Thanks for the insult
Athiest do care. Atheists know some god isn't going to swoop down and save their bacon at the last minute.

These men are scum who have bought into a self serving bastardization of Christianity called Calvinism. Don't doubt their belief, because it is steadfast and sincere.

4. Oh, come on. The "atheist" part wasn't the slam.

How about I rephrase: Bush and his cronies do not fear "hell," they fear no cosmic payback, and they do not care who is affected by their monstrous greed.

edit: spelling

5. Further clarification:
Just so we're clear, Warpy, I will state for the record that the idea of the existence of some invisible, managerial force of any spiritual/religious tradition does not inform any action or thought in my head at any moment during the day, nor has it done so since I was very, very young. I was raised by self-described atheists, but I don't even put enough thought into the topic to label myself.

8. do you believe your refrigerator hasn't suddenly
become stuffed full of hundred dollar bills or do you KNOW it hasn't because you just went out there to see if there was anythin still edible in it?

Stop trying to define other people.

9. Exactly why you CANT know
Because you can't simply zip over to the fridge to see if God is there or not.

You can't know that God does exist, regardless of what any Christians say either. They only believe.

Just as you do, but in a different way, or to a different end.

Only death will answer that question.

2. If they burn in hell, it is a hell of their own making
That's my take on "hell" vs "heaven"...

6. I hope that they have to face the enormity of what they have done
to destroy this country and so many people outsdide of it in this lifetime. They believe fiercely that they have the right to do what they do.
