As it turns out, the corrupt U.S. Administration began the war with Iraq in the second half of 2002, NOT in early 2003 and well before the administration was authorized by the U.S. Congress (in Q1 2003) or legally verified by the U.N.S.C. (which never happened).
According to the London Times (
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-1632566,00.html)
, by the end of August 2002, only a month after the meeting with Blair to find legal justification, our administration began a full air offensive against Iraq to provoke Iraq into action that would legalize a full-scale war. They only acted in self-defense by shooting at air-targets (a clear violation of the prior U.N. resolutions, but then, so too was the U.S. air raids).
Because Iraq moved into such a defensive posture, they ended up violating most of the U.N. resolutions placed against them from the first war. As a result, the U.N. passed 1441 which forced them to open up to inspections again, and having no choice, they did.
So, not only was the current administration trying to FIX THE INTEL, they were secretly WAGING WAR that would FORCE IRAQ to violate U.N. Resolutions. Clearly, this is an impeachable offense on many levels: intentionally mis-informing Congress, collusion with foreign powers in an illegal war, and the death of over ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND Iraqi civilians and over SIXTEEN HUNDRED American Soldiers as a result of these crimes.
This administration has disgraced our country, its people, its good name and its reputation in the global community. They have misled the American people and their government Representatives to commit CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY.
It is time to ACT people. Write your Congressmen and show them how they have been completely DUPED by the administration. I have already written my Congressmen regarding the Downing Street Memo (see: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=1813586&mesg_id=1813586&page=)
We have seen Republican Congressmen and Senators start to break away from the Administration on policy and laws. This is the time to do this. If Congress sees how its power was abused, I believe their is hope that they will investigate and do the right thing.
Your Action Items:
1. Sign Conyer's Petition
2. Write your Congressmen
3. Write your local papers
