How many soldiers died this month? 70-80?
Last night, I was blown away when my local news let it slip that 70 or 80 soldiers died in Iraq this month. WTF!!! It's the end of the month and that was the first I had heard about it.

They are really trying to cover up this war. The station is a fox affiliate, and when they realized what they were saying, they quickly switched to the next segment "American terrorism, eco-terrorists". Which is kind of funny considering that it was good ol' american soldiers and their role playing militia buddies who blew up an American federal building. Who bombed churches with black kids in them.

But a couple of long haired kids set fire to a couple of hummers and they are working with the Taliban. Anyway, I digress. I dont know if saying happy memorial day is appropriate. I'm sure that there is nothing happy about it if you are patrolling Baghdad. Or if you are a family who is waiting for your daddy to come home. Or maybe you already know that your daddy is never coming home.

Bring the troops home now!!!

1. In the month of May, 2005, 74 soldiers have lost their lives.
That's an average of 2.47 per day.

For the most correct, up-to-date numbers, see: http://icasualties.org/oif/

3. Where was the media when 141 were killed in November?
or when 127 were killed in January?

I consider my self to be pretty up to speed when it comes to current events and politics, and I had no Idea of the large amounts of casualties. In facy in passing all I have been hearing is that they have only been blowing each other up and not us so much anymore.

Just imagine the majority of America and how in the dark they are about Iraq and what bush is doing to them, almost behind their back.

website every morning before you leave your home. Make it a point to let those you talk with during the day know the new body count.

You can also include http://icasualties.org/oif/ in your email signature line.

Here's part of an email I sent a while ago:

<snip>

You do not understand the price our soldiers are being
asked to pay if you ignore the 'unpleasantness.' Take
a few moments to honor our soldiers by viewing their
sacrifices.

It took a Freedom Of Information Act to pry these
pictures out of our government:

http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB152/index.htm

The following URL shows a few of our 12,000 wounded
and maimed soldiers. CAUTION- contains some VERY
graphic pictures:

I don't think an oil war is worth this much pain.

A picture is worth a thousand words. I would be very interested in your reactions to the memoryhole pictures.
