George Bush says, "Screw you all ! "
He is the Presnident. He doesn't have to give anything to Congress or anybody else. He won the last election. Hadn't you heard? The people loved him more than they loved John Kerry. He has some political capital and, by God, he is going to spend it! The Republicans in Congress and the Senate were elected to do whatever he says. That separation of powers crap is all bullshit. As far as the Bolton documents, the Senate has no right to see anything, especially the Democrats. They lost the last election. They need to understand that. You people can kiss George W Bush's ass! He can do away with the Constitution if he wants. What are you going to do about it? Huh? Huh?

4. You know Bush is in trouble when...

...Pat Buchanan goes on Tweety's show and says that you don't give up the documents when you have something to hide. As in - uh-oh. So, all he has left is to do his best Phineas T. Bluster impression.

7. The senate thing is most disturbing
When the executive branch refuses to release information to the Senate foreign intelligence commitee - do we really have a balance of powers between the executive and legislative branches?

8. These are the folks who set up a "shadow govt" after 911
where chunks of leadership in various agencies went to some safe compound from which to work, so that the federal govt wouldn't shut down under attack ... but they did this for months and never once informed congressional democratic leaders (and the senate, at the time, was under democratic control). Daschle learned about the arrangement -by watching tv.

these are folks, who after 911, would hold security briefings on the hill (led by Condi) but would only brief republican congressmen and some big $$ republican donors, but wouldn't brief the democratic leadership.

Now that they control both houses, and find that one can be a bit of a stumbling block, especially infuriating to them since they have a fairly sound majority... they are using the same powerplays on some of their own.

You have it right - bush repeatedly says I can do whatever I want I am the King/er president.
