Bill Frist voted Against Bolton?
I'm not sure but I think I heard that Bill Frist-(R) voted AGAINST an up or down vote for his friend Bolton. Could it be true?

For some reason I saw that on kos after the vote but it isn't true. Bill Frist voted for cloture.

okay you guys proved me wrong. As others have stated below he did vote no on cloture but not for the same reasons as the Democrats. I'll check my facts next time.

11. Can you say, "Voted against Bolton before he voted for him"
I'm going to be reminding everybody of that in 2008.

7. My guess???
The NO team had the numbers, firm, and released the people who needed to vote YEA for whatever reason--internal political pressure, constituent pressure, whatever...they did a good head count ahead of time.

In any event, PissyFrist has been spanked. He ain't gittin' it done. And while the classified documents ARE a REAL issue, and should be released so that the Senate can advise and consent, the elephant in the room, that no one is talking about, is Plato's Retreat. That no doubt made it easier for some to withhold their endorsement...

8. Good take
I'm inclined to agree - the NO team had it and everyone knew it, probably fairly early in the day.

9. I don't think they knew it was a done deal that early
Instead of the regular 15 minutes for a vote, it went on for over an hour or so while the Republicans tried to get more yes votes.

When it was clearly not going that way, Frist weighed in with a no, to be able to bring it back up for another vote. I think they said June 7 or around then.

The big question is whether the Bush administration will comply with the information request or not.

My guess is that it is so damning that they will not, and then blame the Democrats for being "obstructionist."

10. One of the journalists who covers the senate said
that about 4pm he started hearing rumblings about the repubs not having enough votes. The controversy is whether the whip, McConnell, didn't count right or whether Frist went ahead even knowing he didn't have the votes.

5. It is true. He Had to. Only people who voted NAY can have a motion to
reconsider. He will ask for another vote ASAP. Before the State
Department has to deliver the requested 'Evidence' The Rabiid Radical Right Denies exists.
