1. They need to put up a slightly different poll.
"Do you think the Bush White House is succeeding in controlling the media?"

9. It was up most of yesterday, and the numbers were consistently 94-96% yes.
Consistently. One would hope CNN would sit up and take notice, but you know they won't. They will just go on the defensive, I'm afraid.

4. I'm amazed that the polls have stayed consistent since yesterday.
:wow:

All through the day they were runing the same kind of numbers--amazing.

The people are beginning to wake up from their naivete nightmare.

I wonder if CNN intends to address this.

Who am I kidding?

19. I'mnot sure if this is really that encouraging.
We think Bush is trying to control the media to keep it from telling the truth and succeeding.
The RWers think Bush is trying to control the media because it is "liberally biased" and "unpatriotic."
The 6% would probably get the wrong answer if asked whether they think water is wet.

21. Best case scenario, perhaps: at least both sides have a healthy disrespect
for an obviously corrupted insitution.

12. Just so everyone is aware, the poll was put up yesterday.
Numbers were consistently94-96% that the WH was trying to control the media.

I don't hink there was any malicious intent to them taking down the poll now. I first saw it about this time yesterrday, so it's been up for a while.

17. Did both polls...
The Dobbs poll is a runaway...

The poll on the CNN home page:

Do you think al-Zarqawi's death would have an effect on the insurgency in Iraq?

Yes, it would fuel the insurgency 18% 10305 votes

Yes, it would weaken the insurgency 45% 26034 votes

No, it wouldn't affect the insurgency 37% 21474 votes
Total: 57813 votes

I can't believe the majority... personally I think it would fuel them.

23. Not a very good question, really
I mean, its all perception.

To us, it means "Is the administration trying to control the media" (as it what it reports, how things are reported, etc)

To FReepers, it might mean "Is the administration trying to control the left wing bias in the press, and prevent them from publishing inflammatory stories"

25. In terms of government, without the means to peddle their many
Edited on Thu May-26-05 05:26 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
myths, the perjured mainstream media and the polling organisations that they buy and pay for, the right wing of the Republican party would be nothing, they would weigh nothing, they would rise in the scales.

How could they have stolen so many elections without the means to propagate the many myths they had created and nurtured over the years: that it's the party of big government and high taxes, that it's the party men favour (very comical to hear the nerdy Carlsen peddle that one, with a leer), the people in the armed services favour, that Southerners still favour. And apparently, now they even have the gall to pretend it's the party African Americans favour! Even claiming that because the Democratic party contains among its supporters some people who mistake sexual licence for freedom - not on a commercial basis, as they do, themselves, in terms of investment in porn empires, but on a personal level - the media have a liberal bias!!!! As well as so many more myths and misrepresentations.
