Toss out felon vote, Gregoire still wins
Toss out felon vote, Gregoire still wins
By Seattle Times staff
Copyright 2005, The Seattle Times Co.

"For months, state Republicans have insisted that hundreds of votes cast illegally by felons put Democrat Christine Gregoire in the governor's mansion.

But a Seattle Times analysis finds that even if those votes were disqualified, Gregoire would still prevail over GOP challenger Dino Rossi.

That finding undercuts what has been the most prominent element of the Republicans' case to overturn the election. The case moves to trial in Wenatchee tomorrow."

Finally some good news! Take a look at the whole article

2. I thought it was always good news...
Since NOTHING they have tossed up has EVER indicated to me that Rossi would win.
It was BS to start with, and it's BS now.
Just a bunch of whining, lying, fact-twisting, and (of course) trying to change the rules of the game six months after it was over.

Hey, Sore LOSERS: YOU LOST! GET OVER IT!

5. I've always thought Rossi wouldn't have a chance.
But it's good to see some concrete evidence to support my belief. (I wonder what Karl Rove is going to have pull out of sleeve to make this one go his way - he's definitely behind the scenes on this one.)

6. Rossi's been relying on a suspect rationale all along
That is, a "statistical" analysis that claims that under his calculations, using his assumptions, and not taking anything else into account, he should have been the winner. This, of course, ignores the actual counts, the actual ballots and the actual results. Rossi wins only if the court decides that the cloud cuckoo land scenario he's ginned up is superior to reality.

The old lawyer adage is, "When the facts are against you, pound the law. When the law is against you, pound the facts. When the facts and the law are against you, pound the table." Rossi's pounded the table into flinders at this point. Time for the judge to give him the bad news:

You lost. Get over it, Dino.

9. Good points.
I've never heard that lawyer adage, but it does explain the endless din coming from the other side. :)

Let's hope the judge can manage to stick to the facts and be nonpartisan.

7. As much as I want every vote to count...
I just love saying it over and over again:

Get over it. Move on. You lost. :)

8. The republicans
are the greatest hypocrites on earth. They disgust me so much.
