The culture of life/embryonic stem cell research and Republicans
I love President Bush. This is a guy who sat on his ranch on August 6,2001 after he was given the PDB "Bin Laden determined to strike in America" and did nothing. He continued to build his nature walk for the rest of that month

When the planes hit the WTC,Bush continued to read "My Pet Goat" while al Qaeda was striking in America

When the Schiavo fiasco broke out,Bush was at his ranch. It was a Sunday. He had a Social Security event set for Arizona with John McCain on Monday morning.Bush decided to fly from Texas to Washington,DC to personally sign the bill in the middle of the night. He stayed up that night. That bill could have been signed in Texas and there was no need to fly to DC and then fly out to Arizona the very next morning. How much did that excursion cost the American taxpayer?

He has not vetoed a single bill. All of the excessive spending. All of the pork.He is going to veto a bill on stem cell research. That is all he cares about.Pro-Life.No Abortion.Everything else goes. This is the only issue which moves him

Did anyone hear the representative from Indiana Mike Dence yesterday,"The tax dollars from pro-life Americans should not be used to kill embryos"

These guys are too much!!!Why are the tax dollars of anti-war Americans being wasted on Iraq?

Where is the referendum? When was it?

When did Dobson and Perkins become the President and Vice President?

All of the people against embryonic Stem Cell Research should sign a contract that if any member of their family is sick, they will never accept the treatment derived from stem cells.Stop being hypocrites

2. Yea they're a bunch of hypocrites.
How can you mock environmentalists and trash the environment and call yourself "the culture of life".

4. Fundies are obsessed with the image of tiny babies
you can execute people, slaughter 1000's of Iraqis(including children and babies), kill and mame 1000's of American troops, cut medicade funding for poor, slash medicare for elderly, destroy the environment, and torture prisoners, but just don't mess with my cell babies.

6. Oh, and the "kiss-the-test-tube-baby" photo ops!
There he is, along with Ma and Pa Whitey, with their perfect, preselected, adopted embryos-made-flesh. That's going to be the new "pro-life" rage, adopt a frozen embryo. Hey, all you holier-than-thou types, how about adopting a real kid? You know the kind, living, breathing, already here in the flesh, languishing in the foster care system. How about adopting one of them, you lovers of life, you.

7. Funny thing is, these fundies screaming about "stem-cell research"
were probably the ones freaking out about "test-tube babies" 20+ years ago - afraid that someone would clone Hitler and bring about another Holocaust (ignoring the fact that none of the things that happened in life to Hitler would happen to the clone - and where would the anger come from?).

(A clone, unless the brain is taken out of the old bod and put into the clone, will not think exactly like the original genetic material.)

So, these people who are screaming about saving the embryos (really? How many of the "to-be-disposed" embryos that they've saved have been brought to term?) were probably against the very science that they are "trying to save us from" now.
