Sirius Listeners get Homeland Security Advisories
Edited on Mon May-23-05 06:48 PM by Chicago Democrat
That are unbelievable funny if it wasn't so unbelievably sad.

OK, A "Dragnet" type voice's Dept of Homeland Security advises everyone to report any suspicious activity to local authorities and proclaming our "Nationalthreat level" is "elevated" or "Yellow".

"be vigilant! Take notice. Report anything suspicious to local authorities!" Yes Sir!

GOODBYE USA HELLO EMPIRE AMERIKA

7. Lynn Samuels is doing that for me. If I hear her ad about schools getting
report cards in different languages one more time I am changing to XM.

4. Nothing like that on XM ....
... now who's the RED company? Maybe this is why they are leaving... give more credence to the 'Sirius didn't try hard' to keep them from XM ... HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

8. Depends on what you want....
Edited on Mon May-23-05 07:08 PM by Rosco T.
here's a list of the receivers/accessories here...

http://www.xmradio.com/get_xm/

but you'll find better prices here...

http://www.xmfanstore.com/

right now, XM has a 'buy-one-get-one-free' deal here... (buy any XM Receiver and get a Roady2 free)

http://www.xmradio.com/doubleplay/index.jsp

as for which one to get...

for the ultimate in portability, get the MyFi. Fully portable, comes with a home dock (add speakers) and a car dock (either direct connect, cassete adapter or FM Modulator).

Here's a place with the MyFi for $199 (and you still get the free Roady2)

http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/products/index.html?action=c2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=159501&_LOC=US

if you only want one to move between house/car you need three things

SkyFi2
Car Dock Kit
Home Dock Kit (to attach to speakers or home stereo) or Boombox Dock

If you just want a full BoomBox type unit, look at the Audiophase SkyBox (AM/FM/XM/CD/MP3) it's a Best Buy exclusive...

http://www.xmradio.com/skybox/index.jsp

MYSELF, we have 4 receivers...

Three SkyFi2's (one in each car, one at home)
One MyFi (the wife does a lot of outdoor work, she's an archaeologist and is off in company vehicles a lot)
The SkyFi2 at home shuttles between two Boombox docks (one in the bedroom, one in the den).

Addendum: Looks like Amazon still has a $20 off XM purchases, enter code XMRADIO2OOFF at checkout.
Amazon recently had a deal for an instant $50 off Xm stuff and that's when we got the last 2 SkyFi2's.

Also note, on the Family Plan, you only pay full subscription price for the 1st receiver, others are 1/2 price. And if you prepay for 1 year or more at a time, if you cancel the balance is FULLY REFUNDABLE, with NO CANCELLATION FEE (a very dogy thing that is to charge a cancellation fee).

ADDENDUM 2:

the Audiophase SkyBox is on sale at Best Buy right now for $99 (normally $149). It's portable XM/AM/FM satellite receiver and CD/MP3 player. And you STILL get the free Roady2 with it...

12. That would be two accounts, :(
Right? two different receivers.

I wanted to get a transferrable one (that works) from car to boom box The ones at Best buy were more (like about 250-300)I wish it was cheaper. Oh well. and you still get a free roady... I was maybe just gonna give away.

15. No, one account...
XM has a 'family plan'.

The 1st receiver is $12.99/mo
2nd receiver is $6.99/mo

up to 5 receivers on one account.

17. Transfer from Car to house...
1 ea SkyFi2
1 ea SkyFi2 Car Kit
1 ea SkyFi2 BoomBox
(and you still can get a free Roady2)

Right now (whiule it's on sale) the AudioPhase SkyBox (house) w/free Roady2 (car) would be a better deal...

SkyBox w/Free Roady2 $99

SkyFi2+Car Kit+BoomBox = ~$260 (depending on where you get it)

$160 difference = 8 months subscription for the SkyBox/Roady2 pair.

18. Same M.O. As Hitler
Why does Bush's Homeland Security resemble brownshirts while the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Acts resemble Hitler's Enabling Act?
Same modus operandi. In everything, actually.
